Chris Rock was a disappointing host. Too much like a stand-up routine than something fitting the moment.
Complete list here (http://www.zap2it.com/movies/news/story/0,1259,90291-5--24857,00.html). I was completely disappointed with the oscars given to lead actress, picture, and director. But this seems to happen every year. I'd argue that Depp or DiCaprio delivered much more believable performances; especially with the accent Depp had to nail (thanks KCRW/NPR for the insight); but Jamie Foxx put on a good show as well; just not my personal favorite. Obvious favorite for the academy this year was MDB; "Finding Neverland," "The Aviator," and "Sideways" were given consolation prizes.
I agree (full story here (http://www.zap2it.com/movies/go?path=/movies/news/story&general_id=24856)): 7:58 p.m. -- The Purple One, Prince, doesn't disappoint and shows up in a purple suit to finally hand out the best song award to Jorge Drexler for "Al Otro Lado Del Rio." Drexler's thank you speech is our favorite of the evening. He sings a few pretty bars from his song and then merely adds, "Ciao, thank you, gracias, ciao."
