I've been commuting to school since the semester started, but dragging along the helmet and jacket and gloves all day is sure a pain. I rode squid (tee-shirt/jeans) to school last week and felt completely naked.
What do you guys do when you go to school, do you have to lug around all you gear like me, or is there something im missing out on? Its such a pain im almost considering going squid from now on, even though i promised myself, after my first crash, to never saddle up without proper gear. :squid: :squid: :squid:

cable lock through jacket sleeve and through the front of helmet... so they cant cut the straps...

I lug all the stuff around all day... When i don't feel like carrying the helmet i just grab my pos helmet and lock it to the bike ... but then again my gear is more expensive then my bike...

 well thats a good thing, if only i had spent more money on my gear than my bike for my first crash i wouldn't have had such a limp for so long.

usually wear a sweatshirt but if I wear my leather jacket then I just lug it around. Always keep my helmet with me

for two years l lugged my gear around with me everyday and it got ot be a pina uin small classes where there was no room for my stuff. i admit i mostly just wear a sweatshirt, helmet and gloves. i definatley do not leave my helmet on the bike becasue if it gets jacked you are SOL. i do only live a mile from school now so i dont feel too bad about not wearing my jacket, before i lived like 15 minutes away, but im sure my tone would change if anything happened to me in that mile ride

I got lucky..I used to work on campus so if I had work first I could leave it there..but if I had class..I would lug it around...and yes you do get alot of people come and have conversations...but give you weird looks when you're in full leathers :nerd:

I used to take my gear with me.Not a big deal.Just jacket and helmet. You can wear jeans and have the Icon protection under..no big deal...if you want too:-)
I locked my helmet through my cable one time and my helmet face shield was GONE! They're expensive on some helmets..up to $50 on AGV's Damon Top Vent and others ...I would take the stuff with me.

just lug it around. I used to hate trying to find a place to stuff my jacket in class.
This textile jacket I've been using lately is great though b/c it compacts down relatively small and you can stuff it under the desk.
At work every day someone thinks they're Mr. Comedian and has to crack something about me all geared up. Yesterday it was Darth Vader jokes. Been getting a lot of wierd looks since all I take off is my helmet when I have to stop at the store on the way home. Of course that could be since Im still wearing my ski mask cause its so cold :ninja:

Some pains are worth the sacrifice, bro. It only takes that one time to have a spill to make it all worth while. I used to wear jeans to work but recently decided that leathers would be better...especially considering my 70 mile one-way commute when I do ride.
Live to ride, but ride to live.

Depending where Im going I bring the ghetto helmet that Im not afraid to leave on the bike. I wore my jacket to the rod run a few weeks back and felt pretty stupid after walking around with it on/ carrying it for awhile, plus it was getting hot. If I could go back I certainly would have went ala squid.

amen to that!....
on the day i crashed I left the house wearing a sweater and jeans. as soon as i closed the door to the house i had a second thought. so turned right around and went inside to put my leather jacket on. 5mins later i was skidding across the 8west exit on my back while my bike goes into the guard rail. THANK GOD for second thoughts!
long story short.... WEAR IT!
plus u get that stupid question everyone asks u...
"you ride a motorcycle?!"
your reply
"No... i just like to wear leather and carry a helmet around cuz i think i look cool"
