its open to all. I would suggest starting out in the STREET Group just you can accustomed to the track. When you start getting faster and I know you will, you can ask to get bumped up if you feel like you want to.

Prepping your bike is not that hard. First off is to remove your coolant and replace with DISTILLED water and water wetter (or similar). Tape up all your lights (brake, headlight, turn etc..). Tape over your speedo (recommended), have new or very new tires. Full suit, helmet, gloves and boots necessary. Am I forgetting something?

If the street group is anyhting like the neo group I did at LVMS, then it is a pretty slow pace. But it is good for the first trackday, the instructors give the group a little more attention. Im sure they will let u bump up if your pace is faster than the rest of the group

I heard that it was 31 front and 22 rear...no joke!

I think that rear is suppose to have a stiffer carcass...this is what I read on another board.....oh yeah, this is from the Michlein guys themselves too

try backing off both rebound and compression, and then work your way from there....

Okay, let's see if I can get more in depth here.

First several sessions, it definitely took me awhile to get used to GP shifting. I had to brake prematurely to think about my downshifting, and then it seemed like upshifting was a chore because I simply had to concentrate on it. But after just taking it easy, and following around Jeff and Carlos for a couple sessions, it kinda just clicked and I stopped thinking about the shifting and just rode.

Jeff, it was nice seeing you rail on that bike, you looked real good, especially watching own people in that suit.

Carlos, what can I say, 3 for 3 on trackdays this year, we have to do more.

Sean, nice owning me on the sweeper, and I do like your new undertail exhaust, ;).

Josh, nice dicing it up with you, especially that last session, can't wait to do it again.

Robert, nice form and you are definitely looking good out there. Take those damned feelers off already.

Chad, nice meeting you and you are looking great out there too!

I wouldn't charactorize this day as a "fest" as some have been in the past.. it was just the first couple of sessions after lunch that got all jacked up.. I'd say we had more mechanicals out there (causing the need for the crashtruck) than anything.

I honestly had more fun than I have had before at Buttonwillow while riding that bone stock salvaged titled SV650! that thing was a total riot.. So slow, the bugs had time to move out of my way-ahahahaha!!

This was my first track day and I had a blast. I had one off roading experience but other than that I felt pretty good. Can't wait to go again.

Luckily everyone was alright, that is what matters. No need to write an entire siloloquy about the getoffs, it happens, ride again. To me, going to the track and just having fun is what it is all about.

Dustin, excellent job by you and your crew again, thank you so much for the late add. Now if I can only scrounge enough money for the big track on the 23rd, it is so on!

I had a blast out there and learned alot more about my own abilities as well as how far I can actually push my bike, with the right conditions. I never removed the the peg feelers becuase i never thought I can lean over that far, so I couldn't believe they scraped before putting a knee down!! I am def. going to do more track days.

Robert, for your first trackday, you did awesome. If you didn't tell me, I would have not thought that to be your first trackday. You definitely had alot of speed and looked good. Yeah, take off those hero pegs and in no time you will also probably need to get new rearsets, the stock ones drag way too easily. Thanks for the Snapple and I can't wait to do another trackday with you.

Buttonwillow is weird like that.. slow lowsides can still total your bike. What happens is the bikes ramp the curbing and flip. Same thing happened to me a few years back when I was riding my friend's RC51.. Tucked the front end in the bus stop for a nice easy lowside, and the bike flipped after ramping the curb.
