I can't figure this out....

So I know they changed the exhaust on the R6 from 2003 to 2004.... BUT... would the 2004 exhaust still work on the 03?

I discovered that my little mishap in October left an air leak at the base of my can and I just want a new one.... DOn't need aftermarket... that thing is way fast anyways... although...

No no no!!! I just need stock... what you kids think

I'm pretty sure the '04 and '03 exhaust are interchangeable! But I think a slip on wouldn't hurt anybody!

Pshaw! Everyone knows slip-ons are for squids! Save up for aftermarket suspension tweaks/replacements and get some real brakes. ;)

As for the 03-04 exhaust... I doubt that the difference would be huge. Just make sure the fittings are the same. You know someone with an '04 that is willing to drop you can for free-ninety-free? That would be your best route -- ask someone who is modifying their bike (either for racing or whatever) for their stock can.

watch ebay Tre, don't buy a new one. There's usually a grip of those since a lot of folks get slipons... I've seen a bunch of 03's.

They're the same.

But a stock can from a dealer is going to cost more than an aftermarket slipon.

Hell..I just saw a slightly used Akra for $250

There's no way to plug up that leak?

If you get an aftermarket slip-on, you'll probably have to rejet to get any benefit out of it (right r6 guys?). Then you'll gain like, what, 1 hp?

His R6 is fuel injected, I think.

A slipon doesn't really need a rejet..or in this case a power commander..it helps though.

Some slipons will give you 5+ HP by themselves

I read an article from a Uk mag that had a comparo

Most I heard was a 2hp gain ...cant remember which mag, but they dyno'd all sorts of different slip-ons and the most was 2 hp and they were from akra and yosh.....most slip-ons were gaining 0.5 hp....not saying on a given day that any particular dyno can read a 5hp gain, but as far as a comparo went for the Stock 02 R6 that was what it was relatively...

Given that you gain a horse power for every 6 lbs. you lose (or something like that), they probably throw that number into their equations as well. Marketing, baby!!!
