Hehe.. well... I already have the application sitting right here in front of me actually. If I had more time... more importantly more time on the track actually... I would jump on this opportunity. :)
I wish I was fast enough to even consider trying out. But actually I guess you could just try out to get all the practice, coaching, setup advice, timing, and track experiences. :) $2k ain't a bad deal for all that ... but u gotta travel to each of the designated destinations listed below... and I just don't have that kind of time. =T
For the curious, here are some details on the application that I received in the mail for the Team Hammer Talent Search:
Non-refundable Registration Fee: $1995
I'd get a free t-shirt tho!
Also, part of the requirements is that I race my own 2002 or newer Suzuki GSXR motorcycle and buy and wear my own set of Alpinestar boots and gloves. I don't have any of those things.. =(
Here are the events that are "included" in the package for the Talent Search:
Set-up Seminars:
Feb 18-19: CA Speedway
March 19=10: Barber Motorsports Park
Practice Days:
Feb 25: Daytona International Speedway
June 24: Brainerd International Raceway
Michelin Test Days:
April 20-21: Road America
May 5-6: Pikes Peak International Raceway
June 8-9: Brainerd International Raceway
June 30-July 1: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
August 2-3: Road Atlanta
August 11-12: Virginia International Raceway
Quite a schedule!
