Where: Irwindale Speedway

For those of you who are into Japanese cars going sideways, I will be leading a group out to Irwindale Speedway on Feb. 28th, 2004. D1GP is an all day event complete with Japan's top drifters as well as local talent that have qualified to compete in the finals this year. Included is a import car show, several vendors as well as an opportunity to meet the drivers and get up close in their pit area.

Tickets are 25 dollars. UPDATE: Advance Ticket Sales has Ended. Tickets will be sold at-the-door for $30

Get your tickets soon! Last year this event sold out fast.

The Japanese guys kick ass at this...the highest ranked American placed 18th last year!!

I went about half the day last year and it was quite a sight. It's a totally different experience watching these guys work. On TV, it almost looks 'rehearsed'. But when you see them doing it live, it's just incredible.

As for the highest ranked American... it was judged by Japanese after all, but it's true that we have a long way to go before we can catch up to the Japanese guys.

Are you gonna be there?

i have a 95'. wish i had an sr20 but i opted to buy a bike instead...has full tein coilovers, exhasut, intake. so it aint that fast but it handles nice:)

I could get you a DET(black or marron valve cover) for pretty cheap from SR20 Development. I always wanted a 180sx fast back or a 96 S13. Actually I still do. . .
