Raising fork tubes

What is a safe # of mm to raise the fork tubes in the triple tree? I have a 98 VFR and want to sharpen the steering up a little.

try 5mm. Make sure your fender doesnt have clearance issues underneath when you are heavy braking and such. I lowered my front a bit too much and my fender was grabbing my radiator.

5mm to start! you can go as low as your fender will allow but anything over 10mm is pretty radical.
