pahrump with socal trackdays

anyone planning on going to pahrump on May 14/15 weekend?

i have to sign up for one of these dates coz i still have credit from last year...
so hopefully some hypercyclers will be there with me...
it'll be most likely may 14th (saturday)

I want to go but too much goin' on...+ need new tires, can't afford new tires and a track day :errf: . I plan on going later in the year when the smoke settles- some time after June.

sup bra ... i got ur text bout this, and i figured you would have posted this online. Yes a trackday does sound good. Have to be honest w/ you bro, i dont have any gear for this, nor any extra money to spend for the ticket and other expenses.

I pretty sure it's complete but from what I've heard, the west section is complete but it's not part of the track.

"The track consists of an entertaining mix of corners, straights and some elevation changes. In early 2005, additional sections will be added to the main track resulting in multiple configuration choices. SoCal Track Days will primarily use the 2.2 mile Main track. However, we may occasionally use the new 1.5 mile West track which consists of smooth flowing turns and elevation changes" -socaltrackdays

Mmmm... Pahrump! I might be down for this... I guess it depends if I do WSMC which is the same weekend I think. A few friends of mine are going this weekend, so I'll ask them if they can take pics and find out any info from Micky on the new track

I just got back from Pahrump this weekend. I was going to go to the BBQ, but I got a last minute call (Friday afternoon) to cornerwork and ride w/ socaltrackdays... easy decision!

From what Micky was saying as far as the "new" Spring Mountain track:
Construction has not yet begun. (Suppossed to start this week... so they are behind). Probably will be completed next year. Socaltrackdays will most likely be running the same config they have been for the rest of the year. They may change it up and do a "short" track version though.

The "new" track (or extension) will extend off of turn 3. It won't have many turns because it's being designed to let the corvettes top out in 6th!!!!! :holymoly: So, not really effective to run the motorcycles on the extension because it would just call for another cornerworking station and also increase the $$$$$$ to rent the track... therefore increasing what you guys pay to ride there.

so thats the info for you guys that were interested in the new Pahrump track. No reason to be bummed... the regular course is a GREAT track!!!

but to make you all feel better... we may be seeing a road course in TEMECULA in 2 years!! *hush*hush*

P.S. Jason DiSalvo was at the track again on Saturday tearing it up! Showed me a few stand up wheelies while at the flag station on the back straight! :bowdown:

Forget it, I ain't going anymore. Don't get me wrong, I like the current track config, but for $185 and 5 hrs away. . . I'm willing to wait until next year.
