Well, my 2nd race weekend was just awesome, not only racing, but getting to see my bro race as well!

It all started out Sat. am, with a nice long drive over from Phoenix. Got to Willow around 3 and began to set up the Buymoto.com pit area. Went and picked up my transponder and mounted it up, then set out on "the beast", my trusty go-ped to watch Sat. practice from all around the track.
This month, I was far more confident on the bike than last month, and of course that's because last month was my first race ever, and my first time ever to the big track! But this month, after riding the ped around and getting a good look at the track from an off-bike perspective, I felt much better.

Turn 1, I just love it, and didn't have any problem late-braking and hucking it in, but turn 2 was a bit scarry last month. But looking at 2 from the fence, you notice how damn banked it is. Sure the entrance in flat, and the exit goes flat, but 75% of the turn in banked pretty good. Mental note made, time to climb up to 3 and 4...
With the go-ped chugging up the hill, I though about what Jason had told me about 3 and 4a/4b last month, aim for the candy stripe exiting 3 and drag knee over the dirt in 4b. 4 scared the crap out of me last month, because unlike all you Palomar riding hoodlums, I don't have tight twistys to practice on, so 4 was intimidating. But this month was a different story, I like 4 now, and even made 2 passes between 4b and 5 during my race!

Turn 6 gets it's own paragraph...

Last month, turn 6 and I didn't mix. My mind would start thinking about physics and stuff as I crested the table-top, and I was scarred to drive on the crest, but again, Shaggy to the rescue. He pointed out how the quick guys like Perez and Beck held 5 tight, then slammed it over to straighten 6 out. Low and behold, morning warm-up I tried the new line, and immediately forgot how scarry turn 6 was! What a difference!

So turn 8 and 9 still scare me, and this is where I get passed the most, but I like the front straight, because it's straight, and leads to turn 1! :ha:

WOW this is long, sorry...

So Jared arrives later Saturday with my new tank that Jason painted for me, and wow, my Buymoto.com theme is complete! Also this month I rode with ear-plugs, what a difference! To shorten this up, I was gridded 33, outside second row, second wave, but when the flag fell, I got the holeshot and lead into turn 1 by like 5 bike lenghts. I got passed in 2, but I was feeling faster, and the guy that had gapped me last month, I was able to hang onto. Red flag after 2 1/2 laps, so restarted in same grid postions, but luckily, holeshot again and lead into turn 1! Got passed again in 2, but this time I wasn't going to give up, and got an awsome drive out of 2 and outbraked him into 3. I lead lap 1 (my wave at least) until turn 9 where I was passed.

I haven't got a clue where I actually finished, but I do know this month was much more fun than last month. It just sucked that Jared was having stability problems which didn't allow him to push safely. Last month batteling with him was tons'o'fun! Next time buddy.

Well, thanks to everyone who came up to support Jason, and rubbed off on the rest of us! And many thanks to my Dad who came up to help! It made it that much more fun to hang out at the track with him again and watch Jas dice it up!

Well, sorry for taking up so much of your time! Next post will be shorter, I promise!
