View Full Version : Clip ons
as a result of my short arms I always strain my wrists while riding (putting too much pressure because i have to lean over so much). Would clip ons help at all with reducin this problem, and are they hard to instal (on r6)l? Thanks ! :)

clip ons are not hard to install but a set of after market clip ons for the R6 are normally for race application meaning they would be installed under the triple tree, where as you stocks are on top. this would make you even more hunched over than you already are and putting more weight on your hands. all i can say is try to grip the tank more with your legs and put less weight in your arms. that is just the riding style of the sportbike, maybe you need some ape hangers...j/k. i know they do make risers though as well that you can actually raise your clip ons, not sure where to find them though.

I've got a set of GenMar risers for the R6 that raises the stock clip-ons about 3/4" that might help you. I used them with my corbin when I commuted with the bike. The R6 is no longer my commuter so I'm not using them. PM if your interested here are a few pics:

Unless you get some heli-bars they will most likely hurt more.
Heli bars raise the clipon hieght rather than reduce it

Harris also makes riser bars. I believe there are some at ema-usa.com -- buymoto is a dealer.
I believe I've also seen conversions where people have put handlebars to give an even more upright position
ab and lower back excercises also help keep the weight off of your arms and wrists. plus it keeps you from being a hunchback when you get off the bike too.
