So for those of you that do not know, the UCSB motorcycle club does exist in real life check out the website at:

http://www.uweb.ucsb.edu/~cyrus/motorcycleclub/

Just so we can all get to know each other, kinda match a screen name with a real name and a bike. This is a good place to introduce yourself, leave your name and what bike you ride and mabe a picture

Also, if you're not "with" the club and you're in the area thats ok too, come introduce yourselves and feel free to come out to our events.

I'm Gleb the great, and Yura is full of crap, I was the one who came up with the name and said we could use university to get stuff.

And I got a TL1000r, and before some jackass says anything, yes its parked, and yes it pisses me off.

Hey all, I'm Ender; junior at UCSB. I got a 2005 Ninja 250 late last year. Yeah, I know its probably the smallest bike here, but its my first motorcycle and I'm lovin' it. Still learning how to do all the maintainance stuff.

A friend of mine who owned a BMW moved away last year; after that I don't know anyone else in town who rides. It would be cool to meet some folks and go for a ride now and then. Only another 150 miles to go for the break-in period, then I'm gonna check out some of the sweet roads I've been hearing about.

One of you officers should use this forum or the Event section of the website to organize rides. Even something simple like a ride up to Cold Springs Tavern on the weekend would be cool.

Hope to see more activity with this group.
Lates,

-Ender

What's up fellow SB riders,

I am a friend of the guys over at Pitzer house, and I currently have a 1992 Kawi zx7, dark grey. Just wanted to say hi and looking forward to meeting up with all of you sometime. I graduated UCSB two years ago, and am still around working and other things.

Your friendly, local :squid: ,

I used to ride with the group about a year ago 'til I sold my bike. Well I'm back and wanting to ride! Seems like nobody is tending to this site and wondering if any of you are still out there??? I want to ride tomorrow, anyone down?

Hey Shawn, welcome back. This site is rarely visited, a lot of us are really busy. We'll do a ride again soon (after I replace my brake pads so my rotors don't get more chewed up). Take care

Shawn

Yeah, I don't really get it. The site was used a lot when I was around before. I'd bet the reason it's not visited anymore is 'cause it's not maintained. Maybe it's time to pass the torch on to someone with some more interest. I dunno, there were a lot of members before and everytime I showed up to ride there were new people who couldn't wait to ride. I'm curious where the enthusiasm went. Yeah I understand people are busy, everyone's busy...but I make time to ride. I need it for my sanity. For the few weeks I've had my new bike, I've ridden alone and it's been great. However I do miss the group rides. Maybe I'll have to go find people the old fashioned way. It was just so much easier this way and I met a lot of cool people.

Well to all I've ridden with before, I hope to see you guys again. To those I haven't ridden with yet who've got some sportbiking blood running through your veins, I hope to meet you guys too! And to whoever is running this site (or not), C'MON fire it up! Don't let it wither away and die! If you need some help, let me know.

Shawn

Hi,
What's up? I heard about you guys from a guy I met at an In & Out. I'm currently riding a Kawasaki ZX6R looking for people to ride with.

BTW.. anyone going to California Super Bike School Apr 1st? I'll be going there if anyone is interested in splitting hotel fair and car pooling. (I'm not bringing my bike there)

how's everyone doin?

anyway, my name is Justin. I post on another board that Kuan frequents, and have been talking about going on a ride with him for a long time. I have an '05 R1, just sold my '04 V-star classic for an '06 Honda XR-650L which I'll be riding to Costa Rica on the 25th of this month.

I ride street and dirt basically, and am no pro at either, and I'm not a stunter. I DO however dig the twisties, and more than comfortable pushing it on a route that I am familiar with (as long as I do a scouting run first to check road conditions). After I come back, I plan on checking out some used sport bikes with non welded frames, and maybe buy a crash cage or something. I have to admit, I'd like to be comfortable on 1wheel, etc, if for no other reason than I think it will improve overall riding ability to be comfortable with the weight characteristics of bikes, etc. Basically I want something cheap, that I can lay down at low speeds. I have no interest in rolling burnouts, or tank stands, etc, I just want to be comfortable on 1wheel.

I'm definitely interested in getting together with some people for riding, and possibly track days. Do you guys meet up regularly, or is there some place I'm supposed to come by and introduce myself? I don't even go to UCSB, because they don't have an RN program there, so I go to SBCC. Is it UCSB only, or...? I started out a car guy, and I hang out with all those dorks (jk) at In & Out on Friday nights, but I want to branch out. Anyway, I'm looking for people to ride with, both street and dirt. I'm probably not as fast as some guys, but would like to think I'm not as slow as most ;) I definitely lack some skill at dirt, because just the OHV trail out to Little Pines (or whatever the hell that branch trail is called) nearly threw me off one of the hairpins. Of course, the stock tire on my XR650 is more street than dirt, but still.

I've ridden with a couple other people who I think, claim to either ride with you guys, or ex members, or something. One guy named John with a gixxer 750, and another guy with a silver Busa, and another kid with a black R6 (who's name I forgot). Does this sound like anyone you guys know? I also used to live near a guy with a Red 04 or 05 R1 named Mike, and I think he might have ridden with some of you.

So yeah, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

P.S. I used to do data entry for a living, so I type really fast...and I make long posts because of it :)
