I need with a '99 Bandit 600. The battery keeps dying and doesn't seem to be holding a charge. I changed the battery but the problem sticked. Took it to a shop and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They said the electrical system was charging just fine and didn't know why the battery would die so quickly. Once it is on (jumpstart) it runs for as long as you like, but if you turn it off and try to restart you're out of luck. And it's not like I leave some electrical thing on. Have any of you experienced anything like this with the same or a similar bike? Any suggestions since the repair shop doesn't seem to be on the ball?

have you checked all the conenctions. maybe try unplugging them and replugging them. It must be shorting somewhere. Has it been out in the rain or is in any position to get wet?

First off welcome to the board
Second please tell us which shop you are going to so we don't go there
Third it appears like your charging system is shot and that should be fairly easy to fix. Try using a multimeter or a voltage meter on the battery itself to see if it has a charge. Also try taking the battery to a shop and see if they can charge it for you and after a good charge check the level of power and see if it perhaps is the battery itself vice the bike.

if your sure the battery is good and doesn't have a dead-cell, and you're getting good charge... Like GP said, gotta be connections.
did you try coating the engine in vasoline?
arite, that wouldn't be funny if you didn't hear the joke...:errf:
Welcome

Could be that your battery isn't charging up while its running and so it's just constantly being draind. So even a new battery wouldn't help in this case. My cousin had this problem on his F2 and so i'll look into what his problem was and how he fixed it and get back to you.

Go out and try it , it helps the engine and also provides a special emollient for the battery to gain specific neutrons required by the charging system. The difference is substantial and noticable when it comes to horsepower and galactic interface.

Damnit...I had that problem on my old bandit 600s as well...
But I can't remember what the problem was (doh!).
I took it down to the dealer three times until they finally got their heads out of their asses and fixed it.
Think think think.....uhhh...ok...I think it had something to do with some regulator that deals with charging that battery.
Are you running the bike long enough to charge it?
Do you leave the bike sitting unused for two weeks or more?

You might want to try running a trickle charger on it.
If you don't have one already..get one with a voltmeter so you can see how much work the charger is doing while the bike is off.
