I really need to get that fricking blown tire off of the vulcan and put a new one on. Can someone please help me. I dont have a rearstand(Deno's using it) but even if I did I dont think that it would fit my swingarm. Its a belt drive and I have never taken it off. It heavy as heck and Im aneed some wood blocks of jackstands...or something. Can I get a few of you cats to help me?

Let me know I also need to change the sparks and clean out the air filter, which I haven't done before on this bike....chime in if you can.............

Sean, does your bike have a centerstand by any chance? Cuz if it does, we can rig up the bike to keep the rear wheel off the ground so we can get that thing swapped out.

How bout this weekend? Post directions and stuff you need.

GPTECHMAN

I can PM directions to whoever would like to help...I need something to hold up the bike, like wood blocks or jack stands...

I also dont know if I need carbuerator work, air filter, fuel filter, or sparks...but essentially I just need something to lift my bike off the ground so I can get at the rear wheel. Maybe a rear stand can work, but mine is currently in use at Deno's...

i have a rear stand and jacks if you need..but dont keep them for too long.....im free pretty much most of the day...monay through sat...cept this weekend....

GPTECHMAN
02-18-2004, 11:52 AM
yeah thats cool. It shouldnt be too long. well I dont want it to take long. I should be able to get it done in a few hours...but you know how that goes

Philo

I have an adjustable spooled/swingarm rear stand and a motorcycle lift if you need them. You can borrow the stand for the day, or the lift for as long as you need it. As long as the bottom of the bike is flat (no 4-1 below frame tube) the jack will work fine.

GPTECHMAN

Actually it's like a c clip, not a clamp.

I remember using a thing that looks like a screwdriver the the end is pointed and a little curled. You stick the point in the clip, twist it, and it pops out. I've also seen something resembling pliers do the trick too...

but if we can't find either, like Jared said, a hammer and small flathead driver. (oh and safety googles haha)
