I parked both my F4i and RC51 next to cashiers, RIMAC, and near Muir parking. I was lucky or maybe they just didn't want my Honda Sofacycles. My F4i got knocked over next to the cashiers a couple times right after lunch and noone saw, wtf? Several of the guys on here had there bikes stolen next to cashiers and near Muir, even with chains and such. Someone's bike was just jacked in the new parking structure also. If you can drive your cage until they get this theft problem resolved, if they ever do.

Just leave your bike over night, and stay in a van with some bats ready, and see if someone steals your bike. It'll do everyone a favor.

just buy a ninja 250, I could park that bad boy anywhere without worrying about it getting stolen...or you could get a katana like Jon's, that works too

Our chapter at UCSD can get together and file a request to have some type of security coverage for these bikes.. like a camera or something. That shouldn't cost too much money as there are cameras all over the inside of the cashier's office, etc. Plus with the police station right there in Price Center.. i'm sure something can be worked out. Also, I hope that everyone who had their bikes stolen on campus have reported this to campus police. I'd think that they would have got the hint by now that this is a very big problem on UCSD Campus!!!! I mean.. if these crooks feel so comfortable that they can steal several bikes at a time while they are parked only 40 yards away from the police station.. that really says something about the UCSD police presence on campus. And here they are vehemently enforcing parking tickets! Geez...

IMO, Center is the safest place. However, if you have one of those late classes, then no where is really safe. Especially once the sun goes down. For the most part however, during the day, since there are so many bikes parked at Center, I would say that's the safest. Although how some people manage to cram their 600cc and above bikes into the middle of the motorcycle section is beyond my comprehension (I have a hard time reaching the gound with my feet however). Especially after like 10:00. I could never manuever my Duc in there which is why I just take a DR 200 to school.
