Who wants to do big track both Saturday and Sunday, August 13th and 14th?!?

I plan on doing this weekend. Going up Friday night, staying that night and Saturday night. Posting this a little early, but I can't get enough of big track now!

Yea Right... I just tapped into my savings. Long Hard hours at work pay off. If trackdays keep me off the streets then i'm all for it. Track days are cheaper than a speeding ticket. Now its off to sell stuff that i don't need on Ebay and Craigslist to pay for my addiction.

I wouldnt run the soft...Its gonna be hot and that track is abrasive. Go with a harder compound if you can so your tires dont go off at the end of the day

I used the Power Race SOFT F/R for SOW. It was only a class session so didn't really run em that hard. Still lots of tread left. If Dale from The Racers Edge is gonna be there i might change to Med/Soft.

I tried the Power Race Mediums at Buttonwillow and SOW. I liked them alot. They don't turn in as fast as the 208GPs, but the outright grip was excellent. It is just weird knowing there is only 22PSI in the rear.

WOW...guess I was proof that isn't true....you remember my tires! Actually ended up being my suspension. Rebuild, respring and revalve....no more problems!

I had the Power Race Med/Soft at the superbike school and the instructors came around and inflated all the race tires to 31f/29r. I'm not fast, but the bike was definitely cranked over pretty good where I prayed that the tires would hold up. They did.

Wow, that is alot of pressure for the rear! Everyone recommended 22PSI for the rear. I was going at a pretty good pace and they stuck fine. I recieved more compelling information from Alex at http://www.afmotorsports.com/ who is an authorized Michelin dealer and racer.

I read the same thing, Allan. It was published in that RoadRacing World magazine that had the tire reviews, so I was expecting to run at a lower tire pressure. I brought it to the track with about 26 psi in the rear (I was afraid of going 22 because that just seemed unusually low). However, they didn't let us choose at the school or at least I didn't try to convince them otherwise. Nonetheless, they seemed to ride fine for me. For you fast guys, however, I'd definitely stick with what is recommended.

Almost every trackday is broken down into groups, so yes, you can be in the street group and you will do fine.

First off, go to www.trackdaz.com (http://www.trackdaz.com) and see the requirements. Read some of the other trackday threads to get an idea of what exactly you will need to do.

Okay level 2...lol. Check this guy out. Takes the class in the beginner group at Fontana. Drops knee the 2nd time around...then goes to level 2. :bowdown: W'dup Gene-O. I'd say Fontana is alot more technical and Big Track is alot faster. If you like going fast then you'll love WSIR. :thumbsup:

I would stay in the sport group, but last time I went to Willow, I would always run into a cluster traffic. Sometimes it work to my advantage when me and Nicola were dicing it out. Sometimes he would use it and I would get stuck. I dunno, I might sign up in the Sport Group just for you! :thumbsup:

Also, I'm not quite sure which group to sign up for as the only time I have been to Willow it was a 2 group format. If I remember right, my fastest lap that day was like 1:38, that puts me in the "B" group right???
Perfect "b" group times. Anything faster than 34's and race group is where its at. Pm sent, im right off the 15 and the rancho california exit. 15 is faster and i know a few shortcuts.

TrackDaz Schedule Changes and Additions – Including Turkey Weekend!!!

For immediate release.

Riverside, CA - Due to a scheduling conflict at Willow Springs, and entirely beyond our control, we must, unfortunately, cancel the upcoming weekend date at Willow Springs International Raceway on August 13th and 14th.

We are sorry that we could not provide an event for you on this date. We know there were more than a few folks that were interested in doing this trackday.

We have secured alternate dates to add to our schedule to provide all you riders with valuable track time.

The November 26 date at Streets of Willow has been canceled, and has been replaced by a full weekend at WSIR – the “Big Track” on November 26th and 27th. In case you did not know, that is Thanksgiving weekend, so after you stuff yourself with all that turkey, or tofurkey, or whatever you eat on gobble gobble day, come out and work off the excess pounds at the track!!! Send the wife or husband off to the big shopping weekend, and get thyself out there with us!!! The weather should be awesome for that weekend – it usually is. We predict mid 70’s, and we are probably about as “right on” as any weather forecaster.

Also, we have added a weekend at Streets of Willow on December 10-11. Also again, should be a nice high desert weekend, with plenty of track time.

For those of you that are affected by the cancellation for August 13th and 14th, give us a call at 909.234.4713 and we can work out the details. If you want a refund, we can handle that. If you want to transfer to the new trackday in November, or one of our other trackdays that is scheduled, and still open, we can handle that too.

So come on out and have fun with TrackDaz. You know you want it!!!

I found out yesterday afternoon that the double-booking had happened... The Track management contacted me with some options some of which were impossible (sharing the trackday weekend with cars)... all in all I think this was the best route to a solution, and I just hope we can do whatever we can to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again. Apparently the SBR dude "SPAZ" had some issues a couple of months back, but he didn't find out until the day before or something
