A lot of you know me from the SoCalSV board or the SCS board. I know this is pretty early, but I want to get the word out so people can start signing up if they want to go. With the help of Trackdaz, I am putting together a track day at Buttonwillow on Monday, October 3, 2005. It'll be like a normal Trackdaz event at Buttonwillow, but a little bit cheaper. We'll also provide water and "sport drinks" for everyone, too.

You won't find this event on the Trackdaz website. To sign up, you'll need to go to www.socalsvriders.org/trackday . To sign up for the track day, you need to be a member of the SCSVR board, so if you're not already, register with the website first. Once you do that, you're good to go to sign up. All the payment info is on the track day registration page. Registration will close on SCSVR on September 3.

Now, the grouping for this track day will be like a regular Trackdaz event at Buttonwillow, meaning we will have 3 groups, Street, Sport and Race.

Street: Casual pace, no inside passing, only outside passing.
Sport: Quicker pace, safe, inside and outside passing allowed.
Race: Fast pace for experienced riders. Inside and outside passing allowed.

Each group will be limited to no more than 35 entrees. The Sport group is usually what fills up first, so if you feel that is the group you would like to be in, you may want to sign up early.

Hope several of you sign up. The last 2 years we've done this were a blast.

I did the first one two years ago on my 03 gixx 1k. Was a fun event!

Holy crap, people are actually replying to this thread (no one's replied yet on the other boards I've posted this on). Anyway, yeah, doesn't matter what kind of bike you have, as long as it runs. Hell, a 1/3 of the people on the SoCalSV board don't have SV's.

Thanks for putting this on again, Kurt. I went to the first one and it was a blast. A bunch of SocalSVRiders and Hypercyclers owned the track that day. You can check out all the pics that were taken here (http://www.socalsvriders.org/modules.php?set_albumName=albuo98&op=modload&name=Photo_Gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php).

Keep this track day in mind. Race group remains a little thin, and with only 1 AFM guy signed up, it's not looking like a real fast group, either. :fart:

Update

We've changed the track day sign-up page so that you don't have to register with the website so sign-up for the track day (though most of you are probably already members of the board, anyway). The only difference is that if you're not logged in when you register, you won't get the "paypal" button to show up when you register. If you wanna pay by paypal, pay it to kwhit11@hotmail.com .

The Sport group is filling up, so if you want to be in that group, you'll want to sign up now, otherwise you'll have to haul-balls in the Race group, or not go so fast in the Street group.

ooh, the first SV trackday was great. It'd be cool to see a bunch of Hypercycy out there again along with the svriders.

Something that's kind of fun is that there is a factory AMA team that is interested in going to this track day to test their new superbike! We'll see if they can make it. Sharing the track with one of the greatest would be an honor (even if he makes you look pitifully slow).

For the overflowing Sport group, we can stick 35 of you in that group for the first session, but we will be looking at who is fast, comfortable and experienced to move into the Race group ASAP. So if you want to sandbag all day in the Sport group, don't go fast until the afternoon.

The race group is pretty open.

If you're not a member of the SoCalSVriders board and you sign up, you can paypal $115 to kwhit11@hotmail.com .
