I'd have no luck at all. A couple of weeks ago I was reading didgeman's thread about his low sided at plmr. That next morn I was talking to another rdr about a group ride for a rdr and son that was killed in an accident. I couldn't make the ride cuz I had to go into work. Sure enough, getting off the 8west to 5south I laid my baby down. What makes it so bad is that I was doing everything right. All I could think about was sh*t my bike, sh*t my bike, till I started to feel my a$$ burn as I'm sliding down the off ramp. Then I remember the traffic behind me. Good thing I was doing the right thing (THIS TIME). I slowed waaaaaay down from 80's to about 25-30. I left a huge cusion in front of me and made sure there was a large one behind me. I looked ahead, leaned, and rolled on the throttle, and the next thing ya know I'm sliding along on my a$$ watching my bike doing donuts on it's side in front of me. This time someone stopped to check on me and help me move my bike out of the way.
As for the damage.....lost a little skin of my hand and A$$. :embarrass
Tore both brakes off, scratched the hell out of the right side, with chips in the plastic and pipe, and bent my bars. But I'm still alive and wasn't wasn't badly damaged!!!!!!!

I feel your pain brother and I am glad that you are here telling us about it. I bet there was some oil and/or antifreeze in the road. There always is on the entrance and exit ramps. But like Peto said, its a reason for new mods. The glass is always half full.
Ouch i hate losing skin on my hands. Did you have gloves on? Glad your ok!

I'm glad to see so much luv on tha board....my bad about gettin back in a timely manner, but you know the DI life. Anyway, as far as the gear I was wearin'. I was in Cammies, my jacket and lid, and thin leather gloves. The slide ate thru the a$$ of my cammies, right glove, and right wrist of my jacket. Like everyone says though....perfect time for new mods!!!!!!!

btw my friend, glad you ok
ride safe and ride often!
What makes it so bad is that I was doing everything right.
Glad your ok! If you were doing everything right, you would not have wrecked. I realize you perception is that you didn't do anything out of the ordinary, but something went wrong. I have crashed a whole lot and each time there was always a rider error, even the time i went down because of oil on the track. Re-examine what you were doing and how that may have contributed to the accident. We all make mistakes, but it is most important to learn what went wrong and take responsibility for it.
