my guess is he had to have surgery on that shoulder afterall.. his mom told me she'd call me if he was released.. she hasn't called yet..

From what I hear he doesnt need surgery on the arm and is set to be released from the hospital this afternoon...it was his partially collapsed lung that has kept him hospitalized this long. I'll let the rest come from him when he gets out....if he can figure out how to type on all of that morphine.

Morphine sucks... Dylodin(SP?) was the good stuff for me anyway..

Jason is doing good, but he is still in the hospital. Chest x-rays show his lung has not yet fully re-inflated, and the doc's are reluctant to release him because it is not re-inflating. He will be there through the weekend most likely. I was hopeing he would be released before I have to fly home, but unfortunately that won't happen. Jason says hi to everyone, and really appreciates all the support his friends are showing him! He's still cracking jokes (poor Sean got the butt of it today!) and he's pretty much wasted from the drugs, but other than being bored out of his mind, he's hangin in there!

interesting tid-bit... when I got shaggy on the phone a few days ago... one of the first things out of his mouth was "we'll be back out there to battle again.." or something along those lines!
I look forward to it shaggy!

I just bought some of that same stuff (The morphine derivative) over the counter here in Chile. It was only $20, too. Crazy, huh? Hope Shaggy will be home soon :)

With all the racing you have been doing, I probably would be behind you the whole day. Of course, I have found some new things in my riding....but like you said, we'll never know....or should I say, we'll find out later.

Pete, you'll always be faster than me at SOW! just cause your more stubborn than me! I cann't wait till we duel again though my SOW villian...
As for what happened to me? after watching a short 5 sec vid clip made by a corner worker from turn 4a this is what I can tell: First off I got a really bad start, went from gridded 7th to going into T4 in 11th...remember here I have no recolection of what happened that whole day so I cann't explain my poor start. After making a pass into T3 I drove hard up the inside of Dustin also. Right at the exit of T3 as you transition back right for T4 it looks to me like I lost the back end, just a little slip but enough to throw me off the bike and stand it up. I regained just in time to collect Dustin, the innocent bystander in this. My bike drove left off the track and took Dustins with it. After that I have no idea where we went but it sounded pretty gross...My arm is still killing me and has lots of cool colors on it. Hope Dustin is doing better also. Thanks for everyone's support!

Kinda scarry when you crash and you don't know what happened. Any idea on how long the projected recovery time is?
Believe you me, we will race together again. Besides, the rumors that WSMC will run SOW is becoming more and more real. You know I will be there for that. I'm racing at Phoenix in Sept. I know there is little shot of you doing that one but it would be cool to race there. We went pretty well over there.

It's not kinda scary Pete, It's the most frightening thing ever.
I wish I new if/how I screwed up so that it won't happen again. I have no recolection of sun/mon after they sang the national anthem after the riders meeting. I will be off the bike for some time, doctor said a year so I expect 6 months. Shoulder injuries are very hard to come back from quickly. I might sell my bike even to use this tme to upgrade. Not sure yet, gonna take it one day at a time....

Holy crap....a year? Yeah, 6 months sounds right. lol. I say split the difference and leave it at 9 months. Well I hope you heal quickly and can't wait to see what you upgrade to. Any hints? Make sure it's a middle weight so we can race the same class in the future.
Damn bro, thats a long time to not ride. Your attitude is very good, and its good to hear you talking about racing again. When you better nuff to bbq we should all do a get together. I only see you around the shop and when were racing. Thats too long to not hang out and bs with ya.

man, im so glad you are ok, that sounds so crazy. i dislocated and seperated my shoulder in ice hockey, and i never thought it would feel better. Just take lots of glucosamine and MSM, and do your PT, and you'll be feeling better in no time.
sucks about taking time off, but like you said, no better time to build your perfect track bike.
hope you feel better man, and let me know if you need any help, or to move any heavy objects, as im sure you are hurting like hell.

Shaggy.. have you seen the footage at all yet? If not.. PM me, and I'll hook you up with a link.
its got frame by frame photos, and some video.. It really shows what you did all the way up until my tires were inches from going off track..
JesseJames

link it Dustin, long as it is ok with Jason and you of course.
Shaggy I have had some pretty bad bangups in my time, you have enough time to get yourself back to 100% bro, don't take chances with coming back early would be my advice. I have had injuries that still affect me over 10 years after they happened because I didn't give them the time they needed.
Good luck bro. Glad you dudes are OK.
