ok, I was told that u can do a f2 conversion to a 98 f3 conversion for the tail.. I know most of you guys are yamaha fans but does anyone know if this is true. i was looking into sharkskinz.com for the tail kit. i cant stand teh boxy end that my bike has now.. i want the more rounded look. here is what i could find.. there is also one without a passanger seat..which makes ur bike more of a track bike.. also would i need an f3 seat also?

yep and I got a corbin seat for that year if you are interested
you will also need the light and maybe a different subframe

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I've seen some of the craziest conversions when it come to bikes. If they can put a MV Agusta tail on an SV then you can probably do anything.

Subframes go for pretty cheap on ebay... about 20 bucks maybe... but the thing is, your gonna have to chop off your subframe and weld on the new one... the subframes aren't bolted.
If your gonna do that, I've seen some f2 or f3 with an R6 tail, looks nice... said it was easy to do.
How much does that sharkskin piece go for anyways? Also, doesn't look like that sharkskin has any tabs.

I am almost positive that you don't have to change subframes. It is just a matter of being creative when fitting the new plastics on.
