WRONG ATTITUDE
DO NOT GO ON THIS RIDE IF YOU HAVE THIS MENTALITY!
THIS IS HOW YOU WILL CRASH!
IF YOU CAN NOT RIDE AT YOUR OWN PACE OR HAVE THE MATURITY TO RIDE IN A GROUP SETTING THEN YOU SHOULD NOT ATTEND THIS RIDE.
IM ONLY SAYING THIS BECAUSE THIS IS HOW i CRASHED AND I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE DO THE SAME....READ "THE PACE" ITS UNDER DRE'S SIG AND IF NOT SEARCH GOOGLE FOR IT....
RIDE AT YOUR OWN PACE...REPEAT AFTER ME....

True, that probably sounded different than what I meant to actually say. I purposely haven't joined a group ride in the past month or so as I wanted to get accustomed to the bike. But now I feel I am ready, but I know my limits and and will not exceed them trying to keep up with anyone.
So in a nutshell, I like to push it, but I am well aware there a lot of faster riders out there and I can accept that.

There are some guys who say you shouldnt push it on the streets and that you should save it for the track. I do push myself on the streets but I like to think that I do within my limits. Thats cool, I was just worried about having another fellow hypercycler wad up their new bike(knock on wood) and be bummed out. I crashed tryin to keep up with some fast guys and especially under the circumstances that I didnt know the road.
well if I make it out Ill be happy to ride witcha

I have been riding Palomar off and on for about the past 3 weeks. I usually go during the week when it is slow and good to practice. I went this past Saturday as well and got past a few times, if someone came up on me hard I just slowed up and let them pass. Eventually I will memorize all the twists and turns on the tight side. I love taking 15N to HVR over to 78 up to Palomar.
I need leathers though. I felt like such a squid at the top of the mountain. I do have a leather jacket, gloves, boots etc. to last me until I get my 1 piece.

LOL, nizzle you a trip
The Pace is what we live by, literally, it is something you should always keep near and dear to your heart. Read and refresh from time to time just to keep your priorities in order. Those of us that have had bad spills learn and only try to help inform other riders of our mistakes. I also did the same thing Sean did and wrecked trying to follow riders that were much more advanced then me (which is pretty much everyone and their mother) but didn't realize what I was doing until it was too late. The great thing about this site is that there is never any competition to see who is faster or better on the twisites. No matter how good or bad you do out there there will always be good advice to follow as to what you did, whether good or bad.

WHY DONT YOU ASK ANYONE ON THIS BOARD...IKAZUCHI AND SEE IF ANYONE WILL TELL YOU DIFFERENTLY
I RESPECT EVERYONE ENOUGH TO FOLLOW THE PACE WHEN I RIDE...AND I ALSO LIKE TO TELL FELLOW RIDERS WHEN I KICK OUT OF A RIDE SO THEY DON'T WONDER WHERE I WENT...
I WAS RIDING WITHIN MY LIMIT...YOUR LIMIT IS SLOWER...THATS OK BY ME...;)
Whooaaa...why don't you relax...
Just love how you tout "The Pace" so much when you don't seem to follow it. There's a whole section on dragging a knee on the street....thats great if you do it safely and I have no problem with people who do...but don't be a hypocrite about it.
Not in a group? Isn't that Ceez behind you? Every other rider around you should be part of your group. There's constantly others riders around you on Palomar...ni front of you, behind you, riding past you... You saying that you don't respect them enough to follow the pace around them?
Is that a dig about what I did on Saturday? If you were there you would've heard me mention to several people that I was heading out. The more you talk about stuff you don't know, the dumber you sound.
And you want to talk about limits? I know I'm faster than you...I do recall ripping past you quite a few times at the last track day. If you need to feel superior by going faster than me on the street...that's fine. I happen to feel more comfortable taking it down a notch on the street because you have no idea what could lie around the next corner (gravel, oil, a stopped car, a downed bike...whatever) and I like to have a good amount of time to avoid those things.
Anything I missed?

What the deal yo? Is everything still scheduled as planned? If so I'll be there with my dirty ass bike. Unless of course I have time to clean all of the dirt and grime it collected on Saturday's ride.
I usually take the 805 and exit TG canyon. I follow it up to Otay Lakes. I can't tell from the map how far up the Mobil station is. Is it on the right hand side if you're traveling east on TG road, in that outdoor strip mall type of thing? My street names may be incorrect.

but I had to end it on a down note....last right hander coming DOWN the tight side i saw a squid lying there on the ground.. assessed his situation..im positive he has a fractured femur...bike is totaled...said he was grinding his peg..but it looked good....he was riding with abunch of SQUIDS...as Allan and the others who saw them rising around with helmet fuzz and tennis shoes with no socks....so Luis rles up and help slow down traffic.....we get to talking about to head up to the turn out cause everyone else is up there....Allan comes rolling down..Mike went down.....Mike went down pretty hard so please all pray for him and a speedy recovery....now details..others will post if they want to.......
Top of the mountain is dirty and the botom is pretty clean xcept were there is some snow melting ....

I am having mixed feelings about this ride. While the first half was definitely great, it ended on a very somber note.
Mike D, aka slowpoke on this forum, although he has not posted yet, went down pretty hard. He was coming down the mountain and lowsided at the big turnout, a left hander. He went into the guardrail and hurt his shoulder pretty bad. He thought it was his collarbone and/or arm. It looked pretty bad when he crashed, so I was glad he was awake and pretty alert, albeit in a great amount of pain.
Having watched the entire incident, it looked like he just came in too hot. From the pic I have, he wasn't not braking in the turn or anything, just ran out of tire. He says that it felt like his front just tucked.
Hopefully he is okay and all it is a dislocation. My prayers go out to Mike.

but I had to end it on a down note....last right hander coming DOWN the tight side i saw a squid lying there on the ground.. assessed his situation..im positive he has a fractured femur...bike is totaled...said he was grinding his peg..but it looked good....he was riding with abunch of SQUIDS...as Allan and the others who saw them rising around with helmet fuzz and tennis shoes with no socks....so Luis rles up and help slow down traffic.....we get to talking about to head up to the turn out cause everyone else is up there....Allan comes rolling down..Mike went down.....Mike went down pretty hard so please all pray for him and a speedy recovery....now details..others will post if they want to.......
Top of the mountain is dirty and the botom is pretty clean xcept were there is some snow melting ....
My prayers are with Mike and I wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully it is only a fractured collar bone, or dislocated shoulder. Carlos and I were trying to help the SQUID who went down on the first left-hander. Then we find out that Mike went down and I almost couldn't believe it.
Don't know if he uses this forum, but Mark (Mikes bro) if you ever want someone to ride with give me a PM or call (# should be under my profile).

:holymoly: :holymoly: :holymoly: :holymoly: Mike went down! :( 3 accidents this weekend from our Hypercyclers! :errf: Godspeed to Mike and hope he make a full recovery.

Spoke to Mike last night, while he is quite doped up on Morphine, he is in pretty good spirits. Looks like he has a dislocated shoulder. He did ask for his pics also, so he must not be feeling too bad. He knows he is very lucky just to have sustained the injuries he has. Whew!!!

It's all good, he said it's okay :). He is at home now resting, he is already considering what new parts he should get for his bike.

The damage was pretty extensive. The rear subframe/cowl/wheel are pretty much trash. The front fairing was also caved in. Exhaust gone. Hopefully Carlos will post the pics of the bike.
