Nick and I both took the safety course back in October. They give you two certificates, one for your use and one for the DMV. I took mine into the DMV and they issued my license here in California. He has his license in Arizona and had contacted them and they had said that all they needed was proof that he had taken the safety course here in Cali and they would issue him his license. So he made a copy of the certificate and mailed it to Arizona with all the proper paperwork, two months later and he still hadnt heard from them, so he took a copy in with him to the DMV in Arizona when he went home. They told him that a copy wouldnt work because he could have tampered with it, even gave them the # that they could call and verify the information but they wouldnt do it. So once he got back home he sent in the original, this was a month ago and he still hadnt heard back from them so he called today and they say that they have no record of it. He called the company that does the safety course and they say that by California law that they cant reissue the certificate. Do you think that there's anything else that he can do short of driving the bikes out to Arizona and taking the test at the DMV?

Hindsight is 20/20 - you could have either made a notarized copy sealed and sent, or had tracking on the original document.
But with that in the past, can he get a California driver's license? Or maybe take the test here and have them magically transfer the fact he can ride to the DMV in Arizona? I'm surprised that MSF will not re-issue the document... can someone from MSF call Arizona to verify that he has passed the course? I am sure they have run into these types of issues in the past, ask MSF what alternatives you have.
Good luck!

I was told a long time ago when I took the MSF course was that the only way to ever get a replacement card back was to have the number on it readily available. So if you have that # it shouldn't be a problem. Also try calling the place where you took the class and they might be able to further assist.

I'd go into the DMV with a .45 and a shovel and tell them I want my license now.
