Allright here is a continuation of the thread that I started before. The ride would be for Sat Oct 15. We will be trying to raise as much funds as possible for our friends in Louisianna. This is very impotant because the news media is already starting to cover other stories and the attention is slowly being diverted to whose fault it was. Who cares at this time. The people in New Orleans are still without homes, jobs, food, water. It is all the more important that we raise money now and continue to do so throught this ordeal. We will be depositing the money into a account that Wells Fargo has set up for the Red Cross. Please PM me with any questions or ideas.
The route that I am thinking of is starting at Qualcom and heading North to Escondido and then to the 78 where we can either go up Pali or just cruise on by to Julian and then from there to My Laguna, across to Japutal Vally Rd. to Lyons Vally Rd., toOtay Lake Rd. to Telegraph Canyon and then back up the 805n to finish the loop back at Qualcom. Please join me in this, I am going to do this whether I am by myself of with a large group. Think if it was your house that was gone, better yet think if your entire city of San Diego was under water. I would hope that there would be people out there in my time of need . Tom

how are you planning to raise money? Like a walk-a-thon where you get people to sponser each X amount of miles? Participation fee? or just who ever gives up money?

I guess that I will leave that up to you. I was thinking that you could donate whatever amount that you wanted to. If you would like to get sponsered per mile than please feel free to do that. All of the funds will be directly deposited into a Wells Fargo account that is set up for the relief funds. If you have any ideas that you can think of please let me know. Thanks, Tom

So it has been a week to think about it. Is there anyone else who is interested in doing this ride?

Time for comments. I've ponyed up about $200 for relief. All I can safely afford right now. I think people think that if their company/organization doesn't have a fundraiser tehy are considered "Bad people." Everyone and thier mother is trying to raise money for this. It's kind of hard to give to everyone.

I understand if your funds are tight, so are mine. I am living paycheck to paycheck right now. All that I am trying to do is to rally soemof us together for a good cause. If all that you can afford is to show your support and join in on the ride then that is awsome. I am not trying to put a guilt trip onto anyone. I know that thousands of people have donated millions already. I just thought it would be a great way to get us togehter to rally around a good cause and have a great day out to ride. Tom
