Seeking fellow riders' help at UCSD/La Jolla

Hey y'all! Since this is a helping a community, I thought I could find someone or some people here who could help me get used to the La Jolla roads, and help me ride better on my Honda hurricane 600cc. So I got my license not too long ago, and should've started out with a lighter bike, but I didn't... I was told that this bike would be harder for me to learn on, but i told myself that I'm gonna stick with it. :) I'm supposed to bring my bike over to Buymoto to get new batteries installed, so it'd be awesome if someone around this area could help me with that (either ride it there, or help me on following you there). I've dropped my bike a couple of times on some slanted hills in the past, so I'm a little shakey. Once i get my confidence back, I can start riding on my own again. wow...i cant believe 31 people looked at this and not one person posted up...i bet if birdie was a chick she would have gotten some replies :) ...look birdman i wont ride your bike for you but ill follow you or you can follow me to make sure you get familiar with the roads and make it to your destination in one piece...id rather help you out than see you die trying to make it on your own.

wow...i apologize for the birdman comment...i had no idea you were a birdwoman...but now that everyone knows that... im sure you will have no problem getting help from others...but if all else fails i will still be glad to help you out....i dont go to ucsd...but i have lived in mira mesa and have ridden the la jolla area a quite a few times...there is also a certain birdwoman that just recently moved to la jolla and works there too..and i know she would be glad to help a fellow biker chick out coughLINcough...either way hit me up or pm me and we should be able to work something out :thumbsup:

I used to go to UCSD, and live in mira mesa now. Changing your battery is really easy, maybe a 10-15min job or so. The road NW (torrey pines road?) of UCSD is awesome for riding on. Wide with very little traffic, and you get an awesome view coming down a large hill to Blacks/TP State beach. If you take a right at the light just past the beaches (before you get into Del Mar) you can head down that road then north on sorrento (i think) and it'll take you into del mar and rsf -> Del Dios Highway (another really good, very close ride).

I know a great parking lot with hills and straights, but it's in La Mesa. We can putt around the Regents parking lot or even do the campus loop. N. Torrey Pines rd. to Genesee might be good as well, depends on how comfortable you are in traffic. I don't take passengers, unfortunately, unless you weigh less than or can fit in my back pack. :D
