this was a tragic accident. I would want to believe that after this your group will accept the risks invovlved with biking and try to ride accordingly. If you lead by example for new members joining your team, this is what Manuel would expect from you.
Johannes (Manuel's dad)
Manuel Stahl - Born in Aachen, April 5th, 1984 as the 1st son of Johannes and Gabriele Stahl. Grew up in Aachen, Germany until age 13, Moved to Cupertino, California with his family in 1997. Studied philosophy at San Diego State and at The University of California, Santa Barbara. Manuel died in a motorcycle accident on October 14, 2005. He is survived by his parents and his brothers Roman (17) and Julian (15). His dog Dragon will miss him.
Manuel accomplished all that twenty-one years of opportunity could afford him. For Manuel, life was not about going through the motions but attacking it with a zeal that inspired all who had the honor of watching him live. In difficult times, when we would lose sight of the things that mattered most, Manuel’s unique understanding of life helped us realize what was truly important. Everyone who met him hoped to come away with just a portion of his overwhelming charisma, confidence, and perspective. Whether he played a small role or a large part in one’s life, his legacy is one of encouragement and inspiration. Manuel left you eager and excited to see what life could bring. And all his quiet wisdom would direct you to always be happy and make the best of what’s around.
Memorial services will be held at St. Nicholas Church, 473 Lincoln Avenue, Los Altos on Thursday, October 20th, at 6 pm.
