I just got home from a weekend in Santa Barbara, took my F4i.
It was fun, my fist out of city limits ride.
I made the mistake of leaving san diego at 3:30pm on the way up, took my 5 hours, 2 of them spent in grid lock LA traffic, i wanted to shoot myself, most stress i've experienced in my life...

The way back was not bad at all 3.5 hours, including my fatburger stop, and since i left early morning there were some other bikes out to ride with...

Well, just had to tell somebody... (chewy pats himself on back)

Awesome! It is a good thing that the worst thing that happened to you was traffic.

I bet it was alot more frustrating to sit in traffic and not being able to lane split. You saved alot in gas too!

maybe more frusterating...but there is nothing that I hate more and fear more than lane splitting in LA....The lanes are narrow, the drivers are aggro, and its definitely more labor intensive....I'd rather leave late at night:errf:

I feel ya! LA traffic is insane. I can only lane split for a given amount of time before getting "tunnel vision". Traffic is always the worse near Mulholland Drive area.

If you ever make that trek again, consider doing some of the twisties up in the mountains there, HWYs 33, 156 are pretty fun. Does extend the trip a bit though. Last time through that area we had to make 4 small river crossings... FUN STUFF
