Anyone have experience with these jackets http://www.newenough.com/teknic_lightning_jacket_page.htm
Seen em on newenough was wondering if they were that cheap of closeout proce for a reason. Hey Jae or Mikey any comments or can you get em for that price if not maybe some other nicely budget priced leather

New Enough closeouts are usually stuff that didn't sell from last year or a product that wasn't too popular. That's the only reason they sell it so cheap. I've delt with them many a times... actually most of my gear came from them. Great costomer service.

that jacket is a few years old. Its old closeout stock that they buy from distributers in bulk. That jacket is at least 3-4 years old

leather is leather. being stored inside in a controlled envirornment, it will be like brandnew.
that's a great price for that jacket.
newenough has been around for a while and they kick azz on their costumer service. i've bought a ton of stuff from them and recommend them to anyone i know looking for gear

Just bought mine from there last month and still breaking it in. Fast shipping, great service. Luckily I'm a size 40, cuz that's the only last black one they had. The jacket fits really well. I love it. My only complaint is the neck part. There is the option to use the strap to velcro to the other side, or you can tuck it inside where there is the soft side of the velcro. When strapped to the outside the inner soft side velcro kinda rubs on your neck and it hurts. When riding the wind kinda blows the neck part backwards so it chokes me. But hey, for $111 it's an awesome jacket and leather too! I have the liner out, so riding at night sometimes gets cold cuz a few of the zippers leak air. Has shoulder padding only, no back or elbow (but you can buy that).

i still use one when i sleep at night too
i've seen a lot of chicanes split apart or just burn thru; the lightning suit doesn't hold up that great either

what the hell was I thinking? haha. LIGHTNING! I meant that... :squid:
teknic jackets are sort of weird..........tight shoulders, but loose forearms, and loose waist. They need to start putting some elastic material along the sides so that the waist isn't as baggy. Right now they just put those "cinch straps" on the waist, and those things are just not a good idea.
As for Teknic suits, they are definitely good value for the money but I would only buy the Speedstar (their top of the line)........The others aren't designed as well. For instance, the Violator which is their 2nd best suit does not have neoprene cuffs, and the stitching is not as streamlined as the Speedstar. Also the shoulder armor is not stitched into place like the Speedstar.
