I know this is the "girls" corner, but I do have a question. My GF stands 4'11", and I'm wanting her to get a bike. We've got pocket bikes, and she does fine on that, but I've got a GSXR, and she's pretty regulated to the rear of the bike.

My question: I'm new and don't know, so are there any manufacturers that make a bike in her size that's legal? Can you lower one of these to fit her?

as long as she doesnt plan on doing any canyon carving she should be fine on a lowered bike...there was actually a girl about that height trying to sell her lowered gsxr at bike nite awhile back..dunno if she sold it yet though.

I believe some of the other ladies have had their seats shaved, like Kelly and Birdie, you can probably ask them how that went. And I'm 5'2 and I feel comfortable on the Ninja 250...granted I haven't riden the thing yet, but just straddled it. However, when I took the MSf course, they had 250 cruiser which I flat footed and boy does that feel good. What I also did was go to a Motorcycle shop and just ask them to let me try out a few of their bikes so that I can get a feel for what I like, not just the height, but the position on the seat when I would be riding as well. ^_^

Ok, so, If she wants a sportytype bike, then the Ninja 250 is good. I'm 5'3" and I started on a ninja 500. Also, the Buell Blast is shorter than anything that's not a cruiser. It's really really tiny. And you can lower bikes--I almost bought a lowered FZR that some guy was selling. He lowered it for his gf who was 5feet, but I could flat foot it, which meant it was probably even shorter than it needed to be.
