HVR/HWY 78 to Julian, come back down HWY 79, or maybe head north on 79 towards Borego Springs, and turn towards Julian, and head back down.

Would love to have someone who's down with a "chill" ride, and help us noobs out. Sunday sounds great. I'll bring the map, and we'll decide where to go from there. If we're going to the north end of the county, why don't we meet somewhere in Miramar area? The AM/PM on the Miramar side of the freeway on Miramar Way? How's 9am sound to meet on Sunday?

Lessons learned from Wednesday's ride with j6shin:
The AM/PM is really an ARCO.
Miramar Way is really Miramar RD.
From today's ride with brownbrown4:
The S7 (fast side of Palomar) has alot of sand on the going down side.
So, here's the deal:
We'll meet at ARCO on MIRAMAR RD at 9am on Sunday. Instead of going up Palomar, we'll go up through Ramona to Santa Ysabel, turn north on the 78 and head up towards Borrego Springs. Turn right (forget the road, but know when I see it) towards Julian (lots of twisties), and go the back way to Julian.
From there, it should be lunch time, and we could either stop or continue to another venue for lunch. Ramona probably has a better selection, without the lines and I know a few good eats there.
So, who's in? Brownbrown? j6shin? Snowey? Anyone else?

Hi folks, I rode the Telegraph/Sunrise/Julian/San Ysabel route yesterday and today-solo. It was very clean with hardly any traffic. Today I left around 12:30pm and didn't get back till 5pm. With daylight savings time, it would be a good idea to leave early(9pm is not early) so by the time one gets back to the city, it's still light out.
I'm down for a Sunday ride. 9am @ the Mira Mesa Shell. Route-Highland Valley, ol Ramona, San Ysabel eat at the Country Apple Restaurant. Then off to ol Julian, Banner loop back to the East Grade of Palomar!

poor showing.
I was at AM/PM on miramar from 8:55 till 9:25 this morning and not a single person was there.
I still had a good time riding by myself but I left long beach at 6:45am today to be there on time.

Dude, we were there from about 9am to 9:20. Sorry you didn't make it, but we had a blast. Did the Ramona/Santa Ysabel/S2 to Borrego Springs and then up the back side to Julian and stopped for pie. Then did the S2 to Mt. Laguna and back home on the 8.

Is this the AM/PM next to the tire shop on miramar? There were a bunch of the employees outside the tire shop blowing up helium balloons. There was also a chevron across the street.

Nope, it was an ARCO (used to be AM/PM) off the I15. There was noone there. I called J6shin, and waited for another 20 minutes before heading out. Went out with Brownbrown4, and my nextdoor neighbor Eric. Had a blast though, and will try again next weekend if I don't get into the MSF.

I did palomar last saturday, I saw that too. I don't know why, but there was tons of sand on the fast side of palomar going down and on the tight side going down too. Even a couple patches coming up on the tight side.

Yeah, I saw the pics, and you're right. Someone else needs to take some pics because you're dead sexy!!!!! Don't let the Devil's Daughter see that, because she may think you're a little fruity (but we all know the truth!)
When we changing out the chain? I've got duty tomorrow, but Thurs would be good. Sorry I wasn't home tonight. Had to finally become single (!) and then had to go to South Bay to pick up my son.
BTW- Talked with Eric tonight and Friday afternoon looks good for a ride, you down?
