Hi folks. It's been a while since I've had a chance to ride with the San Diego peeps, so I thought I'd invite anyone interested in going on an easy ride the day before Presidents Day. Looking to hit up some Chicken Fried Steak at the Country Restaurant (I forget the name, but you know which one I'm talking about). I'm gonna go 2-up with the wife as she's been aching to go through some twisties, so if you're interested in going, post up.
Condition: Anti-squidliness HIGHLY enforced.

Ryan - would be good to see you go, but I understand...track has priority.
Lin - Don't make any other plans as this ride will for sure take place, even if I end up being the only one going. Would be nice to ride with you again.
Casey - Come out and ride with us as this will be the first time I've ridden with you.
Howard - Hope you and your buddies can make it. As I hope you remember from the last time, safety is my big concern so it should be a good easy ride for all.

You know I would have gone on your ride if I could. Thx for the invite, but I was gone all weekend. I know...cancel YOUR plans and come along for the ride. You can ride 2-up like me.

woo hoo, hey I'm down, I haven't been up into the hills since....hmmm, I'd have to say it's been a long time. Gonna see if I can talk Robert into bringing that RC-51 out of the garage and actually riding it.

Bengt, nice of you to come with us.
Looks like the down south boys may be coming out in full effect. Cool, cool. Hope you boys can make it out. Marvin, we'll bring some Ben-Gay for you so you can ride longer than normal. One of you guys round up the rest (Alvin, Chris, Noel, Jeff, John, etc.).
Longhorn, friends can come, but do ensure that they are aware that this is a relaxed ride with good people and that safety is highly regarded. Thus, squidliness will not be tolerated. Otherwise, the more the merrier.
I am down to go jsut to kick it if i don't have anything else to do.......

So does this mean you're going, Chris? I hope so. Get your honey dos out of the way this weekend, so you'll be free on the 19th. I'll try and see if I can at least get you a temporary hall pass.

Just wanted to add that I'll be bringing my camera to this ride. With it's 3 frames per second capability, I should be able to get a picture of everyone who attends. I'll try to shoot ahead to some good spots so I can get pictures of everyone. If you've been wanting to get some action pics of you on your bike, here's your chance courtesy of me.

Okay guys and gals. Here's the details for this Sunday ride considering that the weather holds up.
If anyone wants to meet at MM Bike night location, I'll be leaving from there by 9 a.m. so come before then as I leave prompt.
I'll be riding down to Telemobil to gas up, but I hope to meet up with anyone who wants to ride from down south across the street at the Starbucks there. I'll set the departure time from there at 9:45 a.m.
Ride will go out through Tele - > Ride through Lions Valley -> Up 8 to Sunrise -> Up to Mount Laguna meetup spot -> Ride through Julian -> and end at Santa Y at the Country Restaurant. This may change if the group decides to take another route as I'm open.
Rules:
Staggered on multi-lane road
Single file on single lane with rider in back responsible for not crowding
We will wait for everyone at each stop sign (No one gets left behind)
Passing only by spotters if appointed (depending on group size)
Inform others if you break from the group
Stunting will not be tolerated
Must smile for the pictures
Most importantly, enjoy the turns and the company
See you Sunday.

Cool.
As Jeff points out, weather outlook does not look favorable for this weekend, but the weather predictions are always correct, right? IF it does rain, even on Saturday depending on the extent, changes may be made to the destination to avoid riding in hazardous conditions or may just outright be cancelled and postponed for another day.
Please keep checking in and I'll keep this thread posted with up-to-date plans.

Well, I'm hoping the weather keeps up tomorrow so we can all go out and ride, eat, and have fun. I just came back from a little taste of San Diego sunshine riding with the wife on the pillion seat and it was absolutely perfect.
Plan still the same as far as meetup spots and times. I will probably be at MM Starbucks at 8:30 a.m. sucking on caffeine juice, so be ready to roll at 9 a.m. I'll post up tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. with the weather/plan update.
Let us pray.

Nope. Across the street from the Telemobile at the Starbucks and we're "leaving" there at 9:45 a.m. Again, those meeting at the MM Bike Night location should expect to be "leaving" there by 9 a.m. to meet the down south folks.
Please gas up beforehand. We should be able to make it all the way to Santa Y on a tank of gas.

Well...as luck would have it, weather outlook appears unfavorable for having a safe ride out today. Roads are wet up here in Mira Mesa and clouds look like they're going to open up some more rain. Plus, weather.com is saying that it's currently raining down in Chula Vista although I don't know how to verify this. Nonetheless, in the interest of safety, I think I'll postpone this ride for another day.
