Can I get a senior citizen discount or at least a discount for being slow? Since I'm slow, I won't be using up the track as much as you fast guys. I'll be happy to at least do half the laps you fast guys do. Maybe I can finally hang with the 600s on this track.

How do these TD with WSMC work?..is it a "free-for-all" since its a race weekend/practice?...how is the track time structured?

hypersport
02-17-2006, 11:30 AM
Ryan, Most of the racers prepare for the weekend race. They have 3 sessions per hour and break for lunch. Sport Riders Group A & B, Racers School, and Licensed Racers. Usually the Friday Track for Sport Rider Groups aren't not even crowded which is a good thing to eliminate traffic. If you pre-register the wed before the event it will cost $130.00 or $150 day of. WSMC requires you to purchase a yearly fridays track day license for $50. It's not bad and usually this friday track days are easier for most of us to take the day off rather than Mondays.

So it is $150 plus $50? What if you buy a wsmc racing license?

The $50 is a one time charge only and it's $130 per event. I think WSMC racers get it discounted to $100.

Just go.

hypersport
02-17-2006, 03:44 PM
You have to buy the SportRider License for $50 which lasts the season of 2006. Its $130 if you pre-register the Wed. prior to the Friday track day. $150 the day of. The $50 license fee is good if you plan to go on Fridays for the rest of the year. If you don't plan on it it may not be worth it to you. The WSMC Racing Licenses are $120.

Form found here:
http://willowspringsraceway.com/clubs/wsmc/forms/SportRider.pdf

Friday Track days form here:
http://willowspringsraceway.com/clubs/wsmc/forms/TRACKDAY.pdf

Bottom Line to make it easy for people to understand:

March 17th
$130 Pre-register + $50 SR License = $180
$150 day of + $50 SR License = $200

All other track days will be $130, Pre-register or $150

April 14-16 4th Round 2006 Toyota Cup Willow Springs Motorcycle Club
May 19-21 5th Round 2006 Toyota Cup Willow Springs Motorcycle Club
June 16-19 6th Round 2006 Toyota Cup Willow Springs Motorcycle Club
July 14-16 7th Round 2006 Toyota Cup Willow Springs Motorcycle Club
August 18-20 8th Round 2006 Toyota Cup Willow Springs Motorcycle Club
September 15-17 5th Annual Toyota 200/ Roadracingworld.com 250/50 - 9th Round 2006 Toyota Cup Willow Springs Motorcycle Club
October 14-16 10th Round 2006 Toyota Cup Willow Springs Motorcycle Club
November 17-19 11th Round 2006 Toyota Cup Willow Springs Motorcycle Club
December 15-17 12th Round 2006 Toyota Cup Willow Springs Motorcycle Club

Now, Does this all make sense? ~"Do you understand the words that are coming outta my mouth?"

So, Download the forms, either mail or fax it back and then you're all set...

See ya'll there!!!

So it is $150 plus $50? What if you buy a wsmc racing license?

"The Orientation School is required on your first visit and has tuition of $50. You will also need a Sport Rider license. The annual fee for a non-competiton license is $50."

Hopefully they don't mean "on your first visit with WSMC." That's a hefty $230 if so... :nerd:

If you been to BIG TRACK before you don't need to go to the school. The annual fee for a non-competiton license is $50. Again here's the break down:

$130 Pre-register + $50 SR License = $180
$150 day of + $50 SR License = $200

All other track days will be $130 if you Pre-register or $150 day of.

I'm a Track whore so i know ill be taking advantage of Track day Fridays for 06.

After this track day March 17 i have Fontana Apr22 set up after that. Most likely post another TD for Big Track Fridays after that.

Weather outlook is not favorable for this Friday though. We'll probably decide by Thursday if we're going to go, and if it still looks like rain for Firday by then, I'd rather not chance it considering how far it is.

"Got Chains?"

Current Report as of:
Tuesday, March 14, 2006 updated at 5:30 a.m.

All runs are now open at Snow Summit with over 2-1/2 feet of new snow and incredible groomed packed powder conditions! All runs are now open with excellent coverage and incredible groomed packed powder conditions over a 3- to 6-foot base. Winter storms only bring snow like this once a season and you don't want miss the best skiing and riding this year! Today on the mountain we have partly cloudy skies with cool daytime temperatures reaching into the upper 30s.

All roads into the Big Bear Valley are open with chains required on all vehicles except 4-wheel drive with snow tires on Hwy 330/18 from Running Springs and Hwy 38 from Redlands - Hwy 18 from the Lucerne Valley is now open and clear with no chain restrictions.
Hwy 330 is now open until Monday, March 20th at 7:00 a.m. Alternate routes into the Big Bear Valley include Hwy 38 from Redlands and Hwy 18 from the Lucerne Valley. Hwy 18 from Lucerne offers the least amount of mountain driving to get to our resorts. Always carry chains in your vehicle and have them readily available to checkpoint officers. Keep in touch with this report or call Caltrans at 1-800-427-ROAD for updated road information. Driving directions to Big Bear Mountain Resorts.

Nothing like deciding last minute. I'm waiting until tomorrow morning to decide if I'm going to go. If I wake up and forecast still shows rain, I'd rather postpone it for another day than chance going up there and only riding a couple sessions if any. Good thing money is fully transferrable to another day and that they can accomodate us just by not showing up and calling within 7 days after.

Skiing definitely a good alternative but not quite sure it'll satisfy the itch.

Termin8r
03-16-2006, 06:56 AM
Well, I'm up early this morning checking tomorrow's weather report for Rosamond and it looks like rain is definite. Back up to 40% chance again. Hourly report both on accuweather.com and weather.com show rain both in the morning and the afternoon. I know these sites aren't always accurate, but I don't want to chance it and only end up riding a couple sessions if that. I guess I'll shoot for April or May instead but call bail on tomorrow.

Good luck to those who are still going to go.
