ANYone in SB wanting to ride???

Here I go again looking for willing riders to get something going again. I've seen no response so far. Anyone out there still? It's not NY here, no snow on the ground last I checked. Anyway, I'm going riding again this weekend...with or without anyone, just checking to see if anyone's up for a ride....any skill level, any bike. Last weekend was interesting, I came up on two riders (on hwy192) and rode with them for a few miles then the dude behind crashed RIGHT in front of me. Kinda sketchy. His buddy came back eventually but I was first to help out. Wasn't pretty....but I don't think there was anything life threatening.

So.....yeah, email me if you're interested in a ride sat. OR sun.

Brake pads are in, Eric helped me put them in this past weekend. I'm good to go for rides now. I'm down for a ride this Sat, 2/25. Only catch is I gotta be back at UCSB by no later than 11:45, I've got a club BBQ I have to run. Let's make this one short and sweet, let me know how you want to do it. Oh...I don't really know my way around the twisties, I've never led before, so I'm gonna need someone to lead when we head out and someone to lead me back. Sorry about that, hope this works.

Yeah no problem, that'd be just fine. HOWEVER.....I'm not going to be around this weekend. Nice huh, the guy who tries to fire everyone up isn't showing. I know, weak. There's nothing I can do about it now though. So how 'bout the next weekend (4th or 5th). Actually it might be better all around, it'll give us almost two weeks to get the word out and see if we can't get a small group together. Hopefully all the silent people on this forum will see it and maybe decide to show up. As I hear which day works better for people, we'll make a decision on the date/time/place to meet.

So you heard it guys: Sat the 4th or Sun the 5th. Just gotta let me know asap. I'll tally it all up and see which day works best. Then next week sometime, I'll post again with the exact date/time/place. Like I said before....I'm open to ideas, just gotta let me know.

By the way, tell Eric he'd better show up! He was one of the die-hards when I was riding with the group. Seemed to always ride hard but safe.....the way it should be.

ANYway.....speak up guys, let me know what works best! For the record....I'd prefer Sat. morning...but it's a democracy, we'll let the people speak. I'll go for either.

I can do Sunday the 5th, I'm going to UCR on the 4th for a performance. We can do the 150 and the 33. We'll see what happens. Eric needs to fix his air filter and probably swap out his tires. Hopefully we get a good showing next week. Take care and ride safe.

Right on, glad to see some life in here. So I've got one vote for Sat. and one for Sun. I'm starting a tally and we'll go with whichever day has more votes by Wed. So that's the deadline! If you've got a vote, let me know by then. I'll post the decided day on either Wed or Thurs and that'll be it. For a meeting place, I'm thinkin' somewhere in between Goleta and downtown SB....maybe a coffee shop or something.

I also want to mention that anyone is welcome to come. Don't let the group thing discourage anyone. Depending on the size of the group, we'll probably have riders of various skill levels, ages, and a multitude of different machinery. We'll deal with that....it's no problem. If you're reading this and own a bike, it means you're interested. At absolute least, come out in the morning and meet up with us. If you decide it's too much for you or you're not into it, you can always take off. I won't be offended, I promise. On the other hand, you might meet some cool people and decide you wanna give it a shot. For all you others who've done this before, you know the deal....and we'll discuss any issues/concerns BEFORE we leave.

So here it is:

Day for the ride: Sat. the 4th or Sun. the 5th..in the morning.

Deadline for votes (deciding 4th or 5th): Wednesday the 1st

Decision and post for date/time/place: Wed night or Thursday, keep your eyes open.

Good that's what I like to hear.....people down to ride whenever. It makes my job easier. Unfortunately one of my non-web riders already involuntarily backed out. I'm still hoping to have a good showing. Tell your buddies!!! And to all you people who are reading this and not posting, I hope some of you are planning on showing up. I can see that more and more people are viewing the posts....but not writing. ANYway it still kinda seems like a toss-up between Sat./Sun. ......time will tell.

Well so far it looks like Sunday is getting more votes. I'll post something mid this week with the final word. However the unfortunate thing is that it's probably gonna rain this week. Hopefully it won't be too crazy. ANYway....keep an eye on the site for updates.

**** man, I thought this ride was supposed to be this weekend! No wonder nobody was riding and posting up.. ;) The roads were nice and perfect today, lots of good runs on the 33. I'm still in for next weekend since it looks like my trackday got cancelled.

Well it's here.....RAIN!!! It's dumping right now and from what I've seen on the radar, looks like it'll be pretty strong tomorrow too. I'm crossing my fingers for sunny weather from then on out. If that happens, the roads should be good as long as the hills didn't share their mud/rocks/crap with our roads. There IS another storm sitting behind this one but knowing Santa Barbara....that doesn't necessarily mean it'll hit us. So for now, we'll play the waiting game and see what the weather does to us. Stay tuned...
