Riding 2-up Next Saturday 3-25 - Anyone Down?

Going to ride down in San Diego next weekend since I missed out on Friday's trackday being that I was afraid it would rain. Still haven't changed out tires, so I figure I'd take the wife for a ride through the canyons down there. There's really no place I'm very familiar with up here in the OC so all we do is ride the coast...boring.

Looking for a pretty relaxing ride through Tele again. Anyone down for a squid-free ride post up.

I know some of you are going to SOW on Friday (I wish I could go) where you probably will be too tired on Saturday, but if you can make it out, come grab lunch with us at Santa Y. Peace.

Actually, she loves riding back there. She does get a little back and leg workout...even as a passenger...but she's a trooper nonetheless. Come on, Darrin. I've never ridden with a bonafide MSF instructor before. It'll be cool if you go so as to keep the young un's in line.

MMBN = Mira Mesa Bike Night. This is located at the SW corner of Westview Parkway and Mira Mesa Blvd by the Starbucks and Jamba Juice.

It's a leisurely canyon ride through Telegraph Canyon, Lions Valley, Sunrise Highway, etc. We'll keep the pace pretty calm so most anyone should be able to keep up. If you're new to riding, however, I'd suggest a little more seat time before hitting the canyons in the interest of your safety. I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt.

I'll definitely look into the road conditions by Friday and will post up info as necessary. The ride can take a change in route if the road conditions dictate it. I'm sure Portero and all those other canyon roads are free of snow/water so we'll figure something out by then. Thanks, Kel and Rad.

Well it definitely won't be a race, especially since I hate losing to a lady, so we should be good. We'll go over some safety info before we ride out, and everyone is expected to look after one another so no one gets left behind. Just make sure you have a jacket and some gloves as minimum protection for the ride, and it should be good.

It's been a LONG time since I've ridden with you all. Last one was an Easy Company Roll many moons ago. I may be able to go if my Vegas trip this week falls through. If I do go, I'll be at TeleMobil before 930a. I rode out to the T-intersection close to the checkpoint yesterday and the roads were clear. No streams/puddles on the roads, no excessive loose gravel. It was nice. So maybe I'll see ya'll Saturday and meet lots of new faces. -Noel

I wish I could have made it to this ride but even though my Vegas trip did fall through, I ended up riding out to Yuma on Friday morning and just got back tonight. Highlight of that trip was kayaking on the Colorado River. Not a whole lot to talk about besides that. I'll catch ya'll next time or maybe see ya at a BN.

BEX: Thanks for telling me about your experience with the throttle rocker when I went in to get oil and stickers at the shop on Thursday. I picked up a t.rocker at HOM (cause they had it in stock) and I'm so glad I did riding out to Yuma. It was only abuot 190 or so miles one way but it helped out a lot. Thanks.

Naw..I didn't get spooked. That was a really great ride!! For my first group ride everything went well and was within my experience level. Nice to meet you all that showed up as well. Sorry can't remember you all's names though. :errf: haha
