Fuel injection is the same as the Six with the new dual injectors, as is the whole exhaust process, with both bikes meeting stringent Euro 3 emissions standards thanks to catalytic converters and oxygen sensors. Like its smaller sibling, a slipper clutch is used this year, and the bikes' gearing reworked a little for better acceleration on the racetrack. One thing that hasn't changed on the '06 is the weight, although with more horsepower (now up to a claimed 148 at 13,200 rpm) and an improved handling package, our ride was guaranteed to be more exiting than ever. And, out under the Australian sun on the high-speed Phillip Island racetrack, there were certainly no disappointments.

With an additional 25 horsepower over the six-hundred but only a four-pound increase in weight, the GSX-R750 was way faster everywhere on the circuit. It obviously felt very similar physically, but once the clutch was dropped the similarities ended. The track immediately became a different place, and my whole ride strategy quickly had to change.

I sat on the 750 and it seems much heavier than the 600, certainly more than 4 pounds.

The 750's extra power meant the corners arrived a little quicker than on the 600, necessitating a let off on the throttle and forcing different lines. The 750 was also more difficult to lean over than its smaller-displacement Gixxer kin, thanks to the extra speed it generates and the greater mass of reciprocating internal parts.

I still think the Gixxer 600 is a better bet compared to the 750.

25 more hp whats the question?

The GSXR1000 is only 6 lbs more than the 750, so just go for the 1K then! Never fill the gas tank over 3/4 full, that way you make up the weight difference :squid:

I think that the question is how usable the power is... At streets of willow for example, the 600 would probably do better because you could not use the extra power of the 1K or 750, but at Willow Big track, which is a much faster track, the 750 and 1K would have more usable power...

My question is... are you the type of person who believes in WOT in the straights and parking in corners??? :roflmao:

"Mo powa is betta" which short bus did you come off of? :roflmao:

+1. What you'll lose in straight line performance, you'll make up for in corner and exit speed.

I'd agree with you more often if you weren't being cynical or overly biased 79.367% of the time. On this instance, I totally agree.

come by my pad in say..October...then you can have a test ride...dont know though....600 to keep it fair for Arnie's sake or take the step up and lay cash for a 750....

Im reading all the comments about power...straight line...blah blah....IMO, I would probably lean more to the 750 in that
a) yes there are some more ponies in there..(less money to spend on performance products and more on brakes and suspension..)
b) with just a little more weight than an 600, your corner speed might suffer but not tooo extreme.
3) I think accelerating out of the corners at an acceptable speed and going to the next one is ias important if not more imprtant than my corner speed.
4) so far cant dig the new blue rims yet

but like I said...i think this beast is going to be awesome to ride...and that is just my opinion

*Dsiclaimer*- I am not a racer or will be a racer..or will I get this bike to its full potential ...im just a track junkie that will ride anything I can get my hands on right now...:)

I was saying the same thing myself. I passed by a shop which happened to have all 4 Gixxer 600 colors in stock. The blue rims are starting to look bad a*s. The silver/white and black/gun are sick scheme's too! :lift:
