What I did with mine was run a can of Sta-Bil gas anti gumming stuff. I also put it on stands, BUT I also had a friend come by and start it and ride it around the block once a month. If you don't want anyone touchin yo baby than you outta luck. I heard it's a lose-lose situation if you leave it on stands for an extended period of time or if you just leave it sittin on the buns. With leaving it on the tires you'll get flat spots if not moved around and with leaving it on the stands you'll mess up your suspension. SO I would leave it on the tires cause they are cheaper.

how would leaving it on stands mess up your suspension???

I'll take care of it Carlos! just make sure it's started up every other week or so and let warm up and it should be fine for only six months.

You might consider a battery tender, unless someone will be riding it every other week or so. They're not expensive. If ya want, I'll take your battery and swap it every 2-3 days with my Honda's battery on my tender.

How long are you gonna be gone for?

If you don't have someone riding your bike every month:

How bout this, put your bike on a rearstand, teach your wife how to turn on the bike and put it in first gear and just let her run it for a while?? ... or would that overheat the bike... i duno.

oh yea, if you can somehow store it a lil closer to La Jolla, I'll run it every week or so for ya.

That suzuki link is pretty comprehensive...

Put it on a battery tender and have the wife start it twice a month...a weekly start isn't really necesary.

I have a storage unit that I keep my bike in while I fix it...I have no room for it in the garage...I would be more than happy to keep it there and Deno, Pulse, and or Shaggy can come start it for ya. But, Then again I do not know you so you might not be too comforatble with that. Just offering up to fellow rider:cool:

'Los, you could keep it at my house! I'll make sure your bike gets it's sufficient amount of P-vitamins! ;)

i can ride it for you

if you dont trust me, put gas in to the top with fuel stabilizer, change the oil, put it on stands(does not hurt the suspension at all ), and disconnect the battery.

let me know if you need any help

You can get away wiht not starting it and be safe... there is this thing us Ohioans have to do called "winterizing."

Here's the deal...

Change the oil and filter....

Fill the fuel tank to the brim and add the correct amount of fuel stabilizer.....

Remove all of your spark plugs, put two teaspoons of oil in each of the cylinders. With the sparkplugs out, turn the engine over a 4 or 5 times to coat the cylinder walls with oil. Replace your plugs and DO NOT start the bike.

...If you do this the bike will be safe for 6 months without being started.

While you're changing the oil, squirt some fogging oil in the spark plug holes. Wax custom paint job. Put a light coat of oil on your blinging spinners and chromed rearsets. Disconnect all of your neon light tubes.

Better idea......Sell it quick and when you get back with all that cash, get a new ZX-10R. 155 rwhp and 395lbs with the gas tank on empty. You will have earned it.
