Just moved back to San Diego from the Bay Area. Finally found a San Diego based motorcycle forum site.
Quick question, I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Bay Area's website www.bayarearidersforum.com (BARF) but I was wondering if this is the most popular San Diego based motorcycle forum? No offense but compared to BARF, this site doesn't nearly get as many hits. And it took me forever to find this site. Didn't even show up on google when searching "San Diego or So-Cal motorcycle forums." Had to get the link from Pashnit.com
Well, I hope this site can be as usefull as BARF, and hope to ride with some of you gals and guys sometime.

Welcome to the club dude! :headbang: Hypercycles.org is not nearly as big as BARF.. but we have a lot of very knowledgable and friendly members and you'll find that most everyone here are very easy to get along with. I'm not sure if we are the most popular San Diego Motorcycle club but I think you would be hard pressed to find a better more safe bunch of riders to hook up with!

No this site is not the most popular but it is one of the mor helpful sites. People here are usually down to help with anything moto related. But one word of caution, if you like to stunt this is not the site for you. There are stunters in hypercycles but like the site says, they don't condone dangerous behaviour(stunting) hehehheheheheh. So don't ask about stunting unless your prepared for a flaming!!!

It's not that we don't like stunting... we just don't do it in situations where we are likely to get into trouble and hurt others in the process!! A nice pristine and controlled wheelie on an empty road is sweetness... a guy pulling a wheelie passing between cars and bragging about evading LEO chasing him is something we do not condone one bit. I think there is a bit of confusion as far as "stunting" goes and our take on it..
In the world of stunting with Hypercycles.org.. there is COOL and there is STUPID. Just don't be STUPID about it and you're COOL.

Welcome! I'm actually from the Bay Area myself, and I've browsed BARF a few times here and there...Personally I like the fact that Hypercycles doesn't get as many hits as BARF. It makes us more of a family within this community. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I was actually born in Oakland but moved from Alameda.
As far as stunting, I'm not quiet an avid fan of it. Would hate to ruin a beautiful bike by doing something other then what it was made for.
But I'm assuming I see a lot more stunters here then in the Bay because of the flat plains. The popular trend here seems to be sneakers, jeans, and hoodies, which isn't the problem, rather it's the fact that it is seemingly always accompanied with the fat strip of worn tread straight down the middle of the tires on a year old motorcycle with the manufacture chicken strips still intact. If I recall, I've seen only about a couple hand fulls of leather jackets, and have yet to see anyone in full leathers to date, and I've been here for about a year now.
Thanks again for the helpful, punctual responses.

whats crackin, BARF is a pretty big site, i'm new to this one too, but it seems more of a small community feel which is cool.
I live out in Mira Mesa and see riders in full leathers at least every weekend, and most people in at least jackets/gloves. guess it just depends where.
i'm from the bay area too, San Jose. I used to be avid on BARF when i lived back out there 2+ years ago, but then moved out to sunyn San Diego, and love the weather

Nice, as soon as I get riding again we've got to get a group ride set up and maybe some of you folks can show me what roads San Diego has to offer.
Marcus, so I'm assuming your familiar with "Grizzly Peak" and " The Wall" my home away from home.

Well, since everyone else is from the bay seems to now be living in Manila Mesa, can I be part of the cool club too? Originally from Piedmont.
And Redwood Road is the ****. That and Alice's, well that's just classic.

hey i'm from the bay too. castro valley. I will be going home for the summer (still at ucsd right now)...my high school was ON redwood road (about half mile down from the twisties). So i will be riding that everyday. and i live pratically on palomares road too...so that every day this summer. 5 minutes to either redwood or palomares is gonna beat going 2+ hours just to get to palomar and back.

Redwood and Palomares are great, but seldomly have ridable conditions (not to mention they were redoing the roads during the season I was riding). As for, Alice's, simply "the shiet."

Yojimbo you from the berkeley? Where you go to high school? Anyways wassup all you bay area folksters! I think its time to organize a ride this week since many of you are located in Manilla Mesa. Anyone down? Maybe we can all meet up this Wed 9th or Thursday 10th at like 7 or 8pm. We can always meet up at bike night and ride somewhere. Does anyone here shoot pool? Does anyone go to society bike night on weds?

Welcome!! I also live in the Mira Mesa area and attend bike night as often as I can. Have been to Society once...but no one showed up. I'd like to see that grow to what it used to be. Anyways though....we really should schedule a fun long ride with lots of twisties!!! As for seein riders in full leathers or other gear....I have to say that I've seen about 90% of riders in either full leathers or atleast jackets and gloves. Havn't seen too many people in the hoodie and jeans....but who ever you are out there that do it....(I'm tellin you right now)....you look retarded. haha

Yuppers, I'm from Berzerkley. I grew up in El Cerrito, which is where I went to high school. And I live close to Mira Mesa so I'm down to meet up with you all to ride or shoot pool. Anyway, sorry about the threadjack dcnoj :guitar:
As far as riders and gear, I've seen my fair share of sneakers and hoodies. I'd like to think it's just because they're going 1 block down the street... :errf:
