I'm working on a project for high school, and I haven't been able to ride motorcycles yet, but I'm planning to - so I'm starting off with some research while I'm still young.
I'd like to know any information about progressing up into the motorcycle racing career, or anything about the process of becoming a expert in some aspect of Supersport bikes.
I appreciate your help! :nerd: :guitar:

Start when you are around 4 or 5 years old ridning motorcycles. Make sure you come from a family that will support your dreams and has the money to. Then make sure you have a decent job so that you can support your own dreams when you get a bit older. Practice, Practice, Practice.
On that note, You start by getting a bike, learning to ride, doing trackdays, then racing on a club level, get sponsors, qualify for an ama event, do well in that event, and continue to hustle. Prepair to be broke! That's the short version of the story.

sorry to agree with everyone but what they said is true, of yeah, one more thing...If your in High School already your way to old to get into professional motorsports unless your someones kid or rich.
start out when your young, get to know everyone and everything about your sport, it's not about what you do, it's who you know. I know lots of fast guys that could make it pro but without the right connections you'll never get past club racing.

I'm not to sure what you are looking for. There are a few people on this board that race, but I wouldn't say it is a career. If you need some more info, ask away!

Go for it man! What's the worst that could happen. Get a bike, get on the track, if you were meant to be a racer it will happen all on its own.
If you wanna race you need to get a good job to pay for it. Thats the career you should be thinking about!

Why don't you check out a Bibliography on a pro-racer right now and read how they did it?

FYI - Max Biaggi never road a bike until he was 18. But he was a freak occurance.
Becoming a professional motorcycle racer isn't something you can just jump into. It takes years and years of practice and great networking!

I would say that if you're going to do it, do it now. Things will just get more complicated later.
Wow.. Back from the dead!!!

No, but connections can get you cheap parts, and, more important than just about anything else, cheap or free track time if you're really well connected...
Yeah, this thread has been dead for awhile tho... Someone bored today?
