Alright here it is... the maiden Hypercycles Ohio ride... so far we got two fellas.... myself and pnut.....

We are gonna troll on down into the backwoods of Kentucky for a 200 mile journey through the foothills of the Smokey Mountains...

Meeting Place:

United Dairy Farmers
At the corner of Anderson Ferry Road and River Road (US Route 50)... this is towards the west side of Cincinnati...

I have never personally ridden this route... I honestly picked it off of a map... so we'll see this is more a scouting ride than anything.... but nonetheless it is a ride and it is takign place in Ohio.... yeah that's right Ohio

YEah got together with pnut todya and did some maintenance action... oil chance... chain lube and tension adjustment.... and put about 30 miles on the bike just putting around town just to remember how it feels and what not.... that is terrible I know....

I am thinking my preload may need to ocme down... I am considerably lighter than when I got my suspension set up... so I am going to see if I can't ge tmy little bro's hand in helping me with it...

OK so I hav e no pics because my digital camera decided to act how it looks and it is brokeden... Anyways... this route was really somethign else...

I must admit I have a new guilty pleasure.... roads with no double yellows... we were seriously in the back country on this one... the roads had no side lines no double yellows no nothing.

Obstacles we encountered included sheep.

Best comment of the day.... "OK that is about the twelfth Baptist Church I have seen and I haven't seen a gas station for over 45 minutes," "Maybe we should just go pray for some gas." I dipped further into my reserve tank than I ever had in the past... I was crapping... I'ma do most of this route again soon though.... pnut... fun stuff my mang :)

Dude that's like that if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it fall does it make a sound question... the answer is yes, so did I go on a ride... you bet your arse I did... 282 miles long.... and I almost hit a sheep, and was about 4 miles from running out of gas.... so ha!.... psh no love.... I need a new camera... but I think I want those sick tail lights first ::laughs::

If you want action....Im maybe sony? something wiht an adjustable shutter speed....I was looking at the olympus with a 10x optical zoom for things like trackday and other applications...I dont know seems kinda handy when you dont want to be the next thing to target fixate on...

it all depends... ya know what I'm $aying.

I'm actually not the guy to talk to about digital cameras. I still have an affair with film and slides (mmm Fuji Velvia mmmmm) from back in the day.

I broke down and finally bought a Sony DSC 717. It was cool and convenient and all but it just didn't have that 'pop' on the images that I was looking for. Everything seemed a little too flat, almost like a childs paint by numbers kit. It didn't look like it could achieve the color gradient that I was looking for. Maybe in a couple years I can afford a high end digicam when they come down in price a little.

but that's just me... check out www.dpreview.com for good model comparisons.

.... and that's a good amount of bastardization for your thread. lol.

Hey that's what I was looking for... a little bastardization and a link to go look at more sh!t I can't afford... SWEET!

THis is true... hrm... I will see if I can't borrow one just to put into perspective what this place looks like.... I serioulsy had my camera with me and bought batteris at United Dairy Farmers (where we met) and no go... I was like

and as far as turns... yes there were turns... I had to troll all the wya down into Kentucky... which puts you in the foothills of the smokey mountains... so we had soem nic eturns... but it was weird riding on roads that were essentially just a slab of blacktop with no painted lines or anything... luckily traffic is a sparse occurence down der in Kentuck...

I, the second rider in the ohio ride, will confirm my boy chuck's truthfulness. it was a great time, a nice long ride, and yes, we almost hit some freaking sheep (not to mention those damn farm dogs that are free to roam the streets). I felt like we were touring through pete's petting zoo, but it was a good time WE NEED MORE RIDERS NEXT TIME THOUGH. So for Chuck's sake I will confirm the country ride (which included wood plank, one lane bridges) even though we had no pictures

OH SMACK!... the wood plank one lane bridge forgot about that.... I was riding up to that and thought to myself... are you serious?
