Actually, while I was at the dealership, San Diego Dodge, I was resigned to purchasing a new Dodge Ram. They weren't really giving on the price because it was a hot selling truck at the time. As I was considering what to do, they pulled out another truck, it was formerly a Enterprise rental truck. Because it had 18k miles and some scratches and dings in the bed, they gave me a great price. I really did want a new truck, but I couldn't pass up this deal, since it saved me so much money. So no trick really, I just settled for a 2003 former rental truck.

My left rear brake light went out twice now, so an annoying dash lamp comes on along with a bell, but otherwise, it's good :).

Deathblow, you are crazy. I would never buy a rent-a-car. The few times I've rented one, I maul them as toys. Seriously, $18 for insurance? We're talkin power slides, donuts, and tire-howling brink of control turns. Yes it makes me an a$$hole, but it's irresistable fun. Most people I've talked to do the same.

I'm the same way. 3 out of 4 times I'll decline if somebody offers to let me ride their bike. I don't want anything happening to somebody elses bike/car even if it's not my fault. If I do ride it I ride like a grandma. Then again, some people say I ride like a grandma anyway.

err... thanks for the info guys? Hey thanks Allen, I was actually looking at some Enterprise rental trucks as well, and they do have some great deals. I only looked at the ones that Enterprise sold themselves, but may be the dealers have a better deal on those things.
