Ouch! I used to hear all the stories of riding thorugh bee swarms. Well, it finally happened to me. That Sh*! hurts. I got stung right in the lower stomach riding down the 92. Then yesterday I lifted my visor up going up the 79 and got one right in the face. Must of been a sight to see. Me slapping myself in the head/face, trying to get the little sh*! out of my helmet.:errf:

I got stung in the eyelid last year after one flew into my helmet. It was only after I tried to take my helmet off to get to it that the little bugger stung me.

My eye was swollen like a mutha. I didn't take any pictures though as it was just to ghastly. As far as pain, I wouldn't wish it upon even my worst enemies.

Going up the fast side a bee managed to make it down the collar of my leathers, under my back protector and t shirt. When it was in there, I was trying to smash it by hitting my chest, but I couldn't get rid of it. Partway up I felt it sting me, I tried hitting it again, and when I did, it stopped moving. Damn thing wouldn't die though. Every once in awhile it would start moving around again with it's stinger stuck in my chest. Finally I made it to the top, took off my gear, and it flew off and died somewhere.

 That sounds pretty awful, but it must have been a sight to see. Everybody is hanging out, sipping coffee, talking bikes in front of Mother's. Some guy pulls up and jumps off his bike beating his chest and starts tearing off gear. I'm glad it wasn't me because I would have also been screaming like an eight year old girl.

A word of advice for all who may be so unfortunate as to be stung by a bee/wasp... especially in the face...

Benedryl! (check spelling; but it's the little pills)

I got stung by a wasp for the first time about two years ago in the arm and it swelled up like a mother... seriously it was about a 6 in. long 1/4 in. bump.
As a representative to my luck, I was stung not even a week later by another wasp on my eyelid. Realizing how my body didn't exactly react so well to the last incident, I popped a couple Benedryl and it only wound up swelling to about the size of a quarter and was gone within 3 days.

I was practicing at big willow and i hit the bee swarm in turn 8. I had to clean out my leathers after that.. And my helmet, i had a few of the buggers inside, but managed not to get stung!

For a while I was paying attention to make sure I would not have a bad reaction, but I just ended with just a small, dime-size welt and a hell of a sting.

I got a yellow jacket down my shirt at palomar last year. thing stung me 8 times. I was riding banner grade a few weeks ago, and a car kicked ants into my jacket...24 ant bites all over my chest. And then riding back from arizona on memorial day, I got a bee sting on my forearm...it swoll up twice as big! (I didn't wear a jacket through yuma cause it was 120)

Guess I have no luck with bugs.

Wow, I give you bravery for that one. My mom lives in Lake Havisu and I headed out there a few weeks afo. I could not imagine riding through Borrego Springs and Yuma.I just just image my tires melting on the pavement.

i had just done a track day before i went, and i had power race tires on. when i got back, they were down to the cords, so they pretty much did melt. hehe. back to pilot powers.

Last summer I hit a bee at the top of palomar right before mothers bastard stung me right in the throat.

I was taking of my gloves at Jamba Juice in East Lake and a dammed bee stung me in the hand as soon I as got the left glove off.

About two weeks ago I was almost at the Twin Lakes Cafe (telegraph) and decided to open up my leathers a little bit to get a little air in there. I felt a small thump and thought "I hope it doesn't sting" Sure enough a second later I could feel it stinging me. Then the FIRE set in. It was a wasp who had just stung me multiple times. When I got to the cafe to check it out, he flew out. Bastard was lucky I missed my chance to kill him!

Luckily all the bee/wasps ever to enter my helmet have left without incident.

if you think that is bad, 5-27-06 at Fontana I was going through turn 6 and a tire weight flicked off the bike in front of me and nailed me just above the visor!

Good thing I had the visor down because I could have gotten that one square in the face!

Back in December, coming down from Julian I got hit in the back of the neck. Felt the little bugger crawling around there, and moved my helmet. Bam! Had to ride for the next 20 minutes with that thing pumping away back there! Little fugger! I hope it died a slow and agonizing death!:rifle:
