Hi,
I am new to this forum, but have been riding for awhile. I ride the twisties in San Diego and try to get in some track days a few times a year. Would love to hook up with some of you that ride. Don't get me wrong guys are great to ride with, but I would like a little estrogen in the group every now and then.

If chill means not getting on the freeway...possibly up the coast, I can do it! (not lead of course, I can barely follow as is:silenced:)

Thanks for the fast responses. I may join the trackday in August, but am planning to go to Willow in a few weeks. I will surely be at Femmotto. Have made it each year. Am bummed that there is not a track day attached to the demo day this year. Oh well. I am totally up for a ride this month. Just let me know when and where.

So it sounds like 'redtatt2' is willing to lead the ride??? Or was volunteered. Thanks. I am game for a ride the weekend after next. This weekend, I am playing 'pit b..tch' up a Willow, but can ride on Saturday, 6/24. Would be good for me, as I am on the big track on the 26th. Haven't been back since I lowsided in turn 3. Need to breakout the leathers and prepare to sweat. LOL.

Wait a minute! Who said I was leading?!! haha I'm not a track star like most of you girls....I need to be in the middle so I know how fast to go! haha Besides I don't think I'll have my bike back from the body shop before then. I'm gonna be stuck riding a bicycle instead! Aaaaaaa!!! hahaha!

Welcome to the board! You sound just like me! Although I try to do as many trackdays as possible, I would love to start riding on the street again in between. This monday I'm going to the track so the bike can't really touch public roads, though I plan to convert it over just for a bit this summer. (By the way, I lowsided in 3 too....jolly good times.)
Hey, I met you at Vegas last year! :)

Hey Reddtatt2.....riding a bicycle is a whole lot cheaper right about now. If I thought I could get all my stuff to work on it, I would ride my too! :ha: A chill ride would be good, that way, there is no pressure for any of us. I am not crazy on the streets/twisties. I like my butt and my bike and would prefer to keep them both intact. Peeps...good luck at the track this week and let me know how turn 3 works out for you. I am open to any tips you learn. I could use them. Bex...you have a good memory. :)

Haha! Yeah I can't complain about riding a bicycle for a couple weeks. I WILL save money on gas and not going out to eat all the time while on group rides every weekend! haha Plus the exercise is always worth it! So if your not crazy about streets/ twisties....where do you rider? I love the twisties and don't really mind the streets.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the twisties and ride my bike to work most days. I just try not to get to crazy while I am out there on the streets. A usual ride for me includes starting with Highland Valley, then over to Old Julian and from there it could be Wynola to Banner Grade or 78 over to Sunrise Highway or Mesa Grande to Pala etc... Just about any road with some flat pavement and nice curves will do. The only road I really prefer to avoid is Palomar. I know I am in the minority on that one, but I have seen far too many accidents. Crazy is for the track, where I can at least get a quick ambulance ride.:ha:

Well those all sound like great places to ride! I only save Palomar for days when I feel like sweating like crazy and making my knees hurt (and that's not from knee draggin...haha! It's b/c of all the pressure I put into them to get through turns!!!) :lift: It can still be fun though!
I have yet to ride Banner Grade....I really want to though! I'm not a huge fan of Highland though...there's always alot of crap on the road and I've lost traction too many times. Have you riden Telegraph?

Banner is a blast, but best in the morning before all the desert rats are on it. Nice constant radius corners with some good speed. Best is going up. Have yet to ride Telegraph but have have heard about it. Is it worth a visit?
