This video rocks. I am pretty sure I am getting another bike this year and am leaning towards a motard. They have motard track days here in AZ all the time and they are dirt cheap, like 25-50 bucks! They do motard track days at motard tracks and use the big outdoor cart track as well. I don't care what anyone says this looks like fun. Plus I am sick of ruining my knobbies blazing around my neighborhood learning how to back it in.

OMG!! That bottom middle video is horrible! Both guys end up going down, and that one bike has to be just trashed.

damn... i've got a lot of work to do before I can get it smooth like that. Maybe I should try slow motion... like chappelle says "everything looks better in slow motion!"

Guess what!!! I am actually learning to back it in!! I was out with Jerry today on some dirtbikes and I was getting really good at sliding the bike sideways on pavement, transitioning onto dirt, where I get back on the gas and then powerslide through a turn. Jerry got some video of my first few attempts which kind of sucked, but we went back again without the camera and I was entering the corner really hot, getting sideways with the rear all over the place, and the rear stayed wayyy out there when I got back on the gas. I am sure we will get some footage of the new skill. All I can say is that it was fun. I was leaving big long darkies all over from the rear sliding. Anyway I learned a crap load from messing around today and can't wait to burn up my knobbies some more!!

...although I think the next bike you ride should be the Honda Nighthawk variety that they offer at MTC courses, where one can learn motorcycle safety, and though "how not to clip anothers rear tire when drag-racing into 8 isn't covered until the advanced course, it wouldn't hurt you to do the whole thing:thumbsup: He he *snort*.........!

Thats why I don't get one, that would probably end up being me.
BTW, did anyone else see the the supermoto race from southwick today on OLN? It was alright, just a real lame course, no jumps, but there were some pretty hard falls. Also, there is so much maitenance involved with a supermoto, plus no tracks that are available are close. The rear tire especially only lasts like a weekend, pegs are always scraping, etc. I guess it doesn't matter for the rich folks on here always dropping major bucks for trackdays, tires, and all that.

The wheelie loop happens on street bikes all the time. If you think it could only happen to you on a motard you are mistaken.

I don't think you have really looked into this. Supermoto bikes are pretty much dirt bikes! They are bullet proof! Maitenance is lower than on a street bike, tires last longer then a street bike, and there are tracks everywhere! Plus it is only $25 for a trackday at most tracks!

Tires last longer because it is the high speeds and hard acceleration that kills tires. Motards to beat on the tires like that. Granted they slide, but that doesn't kill tire life like turn 8 at willow.

No tracks available close?
- Willow Kart Track
- Willow Horse Thief Mile
- Grange Track
- Buttonwillow Kart Track
- CA Speedway Kart Track
- Rialto Track
- We can run on the bigger tracks too, and it's fun passing guys with 3 more cylinders than what my bike has!

Jgy is right... maintenance is way lower. I can do my own valves now... you only have 1 cylinder to work with... parts are cheaper than sportbike parts... You use less oil for changes (although I change it more frequently so it kind of evens out) and $30 track days vice $100, $150, $200 etc!

Tires last soooo much longer. I have run about 5 track days and 3 races on 1 set of power races and they are just now feeling like they need to be changed (tread is still good, but they are getting hard)
On my 748 I will go through a set of tires in 1 weekend.

So yah... trying to spread the good word on supermoto... it's definitely growing and want more local guys to ride with!

I think if you have a four stroke there is very little maintenance. Parts are also cheaper than streetbike parts, and you don't have to buy $300 tires to go to the track, after all traction really isn't the biggest deal in the world compared to street bikes, and some tracks even have dirt. I habe talked to several motard riders and they say it is a great sport for the poor mans budget. Plus with a motard you can go to any track a streetbike can go to plus, you cam go to all the cart tracks in your area. Out here in AZ there is only the firevird tracks for streetbikes, but there are at least 4 tracks other than firebird they use for motards.

Look at all these motard track days I'm missing:
