Track update
major phone calls and meetings all week.
The Motorsport and Wakeboard facility (let's not forget the wakeboarding) layout is being computer modeled as I type this.
Phase 1 will be pro-MotoX course with concurrent development of what looks to be a "motorcycle specific" roadcourse of about 2.5 miles to 3 miles in length. It will be designed as a motorcycle only track and no cars (dirty buggers) will be allowed due to the incredible forces and debris they can bring to a track.
This first track will be home to track day, schools and club races. A second road course will be built as a multipurpose course for both cars, car clubs, and pro-motorcyle events.
Fees will range from $75 to $200 depending on the event. Sponsored track days will obviously be more expensive than open track days, but we will be the least expensive in Southern California. We want to make riding a well designed track, safe and affordable, so we are shooting for creative pricing to make everyone of varying income levels to participate on a regular basis. Think season ski pass or gym membership. The principals involved are mostly family guys, so kids programs will come into play as well. Also, we want more women to enter the sport, so programs designed specfically for the female racer will be a priority. Think about it guys. There will be a beach, sand, bikinis, at a racetrack. Wrap your minds around that one. Now there is no excuse for the wife or girlfriend giving you grief for riding.
There is also talks of having a corkscrew since there are major elevation changes in the area.

on indian land
That's the ONLY way this would be feasible. Too many laws, too many investments, too many restrictions on regular American Land... A lot of people tend to forget that Indian Land is another nation altogether, with their own laws/rules/regulations. Amago is a fun track, but there isn't much of a following behind Karting and pocketbikes, so that may be why the track went to crap. From what I can tell, the Motox tracks are doing well there. But I don't ride dirt :silenced:

That's interesting, when I used to race karts at amago a few years ago, the owner of the track was trying to build a new, bigger track in that spot. I wonder if he got in with the investers that are funding this.

Warning: allfortheride and others, please take note
I am sharing with you guys, that does not mean that you get in your four wheel drives and go on PRIVATE LAND. This is private indian land and tresspassers will not be tolerated. If I catch anyone on the land I will blackball you from the track for sure, I promise. Take my word on this. I don't mean to be a hard A$$ but this is not publicly accessable land. Please respect the Tribal lands. There is only one truck allowed on this land right now. If there is any other license plate, the tribal police will ticket you or tow you. DO NOT DO It.
Forum members, please police your own. This is the word. You will get no more information from me until allfortheride and his kind respect what I have shared, and respect the location of this soon-to-be great track.

TrackdayGuru UPDATE July 10th
To make clear - we are not part of World Motoplex. We are not part of anything you have ever heard or read about. This has been under wraps for a long time with some rumblings through certain motorcycle clubs, etc. I broke the news of the future roadcourse on this forum.
As is usual and customary, we will get to a point in construction where we will pre-sell certain types of memberships just like Miller Motorsports, The Autobahn Club, etc., did when they reached various stages of completion.
We are not asking for any money but simply trying to keep you all up to date in regards to the status of the Pala MotoX & Roadracing Park (temporary name).
Update: I am expecting some information today regarding the current status of the buildout. Where we stand today is: we are on the second round of facility design. Second round of engineering for grading, etc. Second round of all things EPA related. All systems are go as of 7/10.
I will have more later today or tomorrow. Trust everyone had a great ride this weekend. I did. Headed south through Cuyamaca. Very pretty. Different than our normal Palomar runs. Flat, twisty, little cars, some irate chopper guys (why do they hate sportbikes so much?), but beautiful weather and great, fun, safe, but fast, riding.
Where are you getting these messages from?

While looking east at lunch a new track was spotted, it's either Old Coach Rd. or the Green Valley Truck Trail off of Espola in Poway:
http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=Old+Coach+Road,+92128
They both connect to HVR one way or another. I won't be attempting either on a sport bike, an SMR should have no problem.

Until I get some sumo popo riding buddies, green valley is off (it's a hiking trail, not so much a road). Not sure about the other or how it connects (either to HVR or to the rest of this thread).
There are some sweet offshoots you can ride on the supermoto, but as I found out the last time I tried to take one, sometimes there are things gmaps doesn't tell you, like the gate that blocks the road half way there....

Nah, that's Amago. 1/2 mile, 12 turns of pocketbike/minigp/karting excitement. At least it used to be, before they turned it into a dirt jump track...

Funny you say that. It is the exact same thing I was thinking when I heard they may be moving up north. I hat football so I would love to see the place torn down and a fun track built. Too bad it is in a valley and the sound would be so loud all of the Mission Valley residence would shut it down.

ha... pally will never be a thing of the past.
Seriously though, I think that quite a few of the people at pally enjoy the rush of being on the edge. Knowing that if they go down... everything is going to go to hell in a handbasket... but getting threw everything ok is a rush.
And there are tons of people that just enjoy the scenery up there.
Not to mention not having to pay.
The only way that pally will ever be a thing of the past is if it is made a law that motorcycles aren't allowed on the mountain and enforced. And that isn't gonna happen.

From what I've seen of SoCal and it's tree-hugger residents, I can't imagine this coming to fruition.

I met one of the founders at the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach in Dec. and he was saying that there is a huge fuss with the local residents and such, and that they've been trying for a long time to make this happen. They still seemed determined to fight, but we'll see what happens.
