how would you spend it? With the cost of the motorcycle...
Would you make a track/race-only bike, a blinging street bike, an adventure bike? Would you chrome it, paint it, and/or do engine work on it?
i.e.
06 R6 $10.5k
Sharkskinz $1k
Full System $1k
PC3 + Quickshifter $500
Dunlop Slicks $400
Vesrah RJL Pads $100
Damper Scotts/Ohlins $500
Sato Rearsets $500
Front Brake Lines $100
Brembo Master Cylinder $250
Frame Sliders $100
Woodcraft Clip-Ons $200
Woodcraft Engine Covers $300
Grips, brake fluid, oil $50
Yamaha Lucky Strike GP Replica Paint Job (on OEM bodywork) $1000(?)
Ohlins rear with 25mm internals up front $2000
I'd spend the rest of the $1500 on AFAM sprockets, chain, tires, an extra set of wheels, and stands

Ditto.
But, there is some satisfaction in spending less than $8K and still being to spank everything else in the canyons ;)

Casper: 21700 out the door.
Dissident: ex-fuggin-actly. I get passed by $5k supermoto guys on palomar all the time. Then I get to the top and see them relaxing and they're like 60 years old. Guess there is something to be said for experience. It always trips me out watching them dive into the corner and the bike looks like it's about 6 feet tall.

if your gonna ship your motor check out the "speed dealer" Dave Lanigan or Full Spectrum in FL. **** Suarez is the man he rode and studied under PopS Yosh himself when they were decking head on a table. I have the contacts if any one is interested. Mike Velasco is on the top too.

I'd buy a used 05 749R with only a thousand miles on it and try and work in a free Baxley Chock.
I'd then change the chain/sprocket to a DID/AFAM +4 in the rear.
I'd then have my track skins from my 999 painted professionally.
I'd then add stomp grips to it.
Then, I'd take off the tires from it and add better tires for the track. I'd use the 749R's tires and put it on my 999 for street use.
Lastly, I'd pass Oggie with it at the front straight of Fontana once I get used to riding it and then post a video of it on a website somewhere.
Yup...that's what I'd do for around that much.

1st I would buy my r6 some awesome suspension, like some ohlins junk off ebay ($3,000). Next I would buy a used sport touring bike, like an fjr1300 ($8,000). Then I would get a used motard so I could do some motard races and track days ($5,000). If I have much left I will get my suspension revalved on my dirt bike so that I can do some big jumps without busting my fork seals after one month of beating the crap out of it. $20,000 = awesome bikes to ride all the time IMO.

Only if they are on the bike.
I'd get a salvaged bike at auction. All the body work would be trashed The clip ons and rear set would need to be replaced. So I'd fix it up, trick out the suspension. Of course a Leo Vince full system and GPR. Then get a 2nd set of wheels and spend the rest of the money on races, track days, and schools.
