If I can make it back to SD today, I'd like to ride Palomar on Saturday morning. Send me a PM or post in this thread if you would like to meet in the Mira Mesa area and ride up, or if you already have a group that I can tag along with, let me know.

Did you end up riding today? How was the weather/road? I awoke to thunder and monsoon rain today at 7:00 and decided to surf instead. Hope there wern't any thunderstorms up there:errf:

It was clear skies as soon as I got a litte bit inland.

No thunderstorms. Just heat.

The Palomar Mountain Volunteer Fire Department was having a BBQ / chili cook-off, so I stopped by for a burger and threw a few extra George Washingtons in their donations bucket. I figure they're the King's men that come and try to help put us humpty dumpties back together when we go down (or is that a completely different FD?).

Anybody know who was taking pictures in one of the turns closer to the top? They had a blue umbrella and chairs setup.

Check out rickclemson.com he was the one there taking pictures. He is usually there on saturdays and he was there today. He always has some sick pictures posted. He will have them on his site by 10 pm today.
