IMPRESSIVE FIND. No one would lay a bike down in a truck unless they were trying to hide something!!!!!
my buddy trashed his cbr and we still strapped it in standing up.

i didn't call the cops. go ahead and call them if you want. that is the license plate of the pickup truck. i hope i got it right!
it might be 5H5961 or 5H50961 he had a ball hitch kinda in the way but i got a real good look at it. yah no one in their right mind would lay a bike down on it's side... especially on the exhaust side! and the bike didn't look wrecked as far as i can tell but it was dark so who really knows. he also had a bike ramp next to it and looked like he was alone in the car.

You need to call the cops, as the witness your the only one whose word counts. Also if you dont call them you could be the only thing that was inthe way of cops making a find! Be a good citizen, help out!

call the cops! it can't hurt anything. I don't think they would go after you for making a bad call if it were just someone who had to move their bike and didn't have straps. good looking out. my buddy highsided pretty hard on palomar and we still strapped his gixxer in standing up

I did see a guy with a huge late model Honda Goldwing/X-wing laying on its side in the back of his truck with some tie downs positioned in some strange places on the bike. Good looking out though man.. anyone interested in hosting a database or excel sheet for this kind of report?

I could. I've been looking to do something with my website since it failed as a forum. I'm also gonna make it a diy how to site.
Would that kind of database do much good though?
*edit* If it does not help recovery, it could at least help prevent theft I think, as long as details are included on when and where it was lifted, what kind of locks/alarms were used, etc.

I dont know if having a bike in the back of your truck is probable cause for investigation, even if it is on it's side. What kind of scares me is just how little people do while a bike is being stolen right in front of them. I had to park my bike off base several times because they wouldn't let me back on for technicals. I changed into regular street clothes, left my gear at home, went back with a friend and threw my bike in the back of my truck. Nobody cared. I'd start some **** if I saw someone throwing a bike parked in front of a store into the back of a truck.
