Doesn't seem like speed promotes safe riding. I'm sure there will be tons of negative feedback. I predict the show won't last too long... Especially if they are like the ones they showed yesterday.

It was too much Biker Boyz/Squid stuff. Need TWT back but this time for an hour not 30 mins.

You can't be down with the rats unless you can spin your bike in a circle, lay it down, take the chalk out of your pocket and chalk line it, what's wrong with you GOSH!!

What a waste of time....Can i have my 30 mins back??? The idea of a streetfight was cool & ugly at the same time. Let's drink "Bud Lights" before, during and after their ride up the wall. DOPE!! We'll have to see what happens next week, Since they taped at Cali Speedway while at a FastrackRiders track day.
I'd rather watch "Michele Smith" on American Thunder.

It was the most horrible show I have ever seen!!! Squidly, retarded, pointless!!!
I want to have a show on speed. It would be just like the Car and Driver show I used to watch, except it would be about motorcycles (sport bikes). The show would be split 50/50 for street riders and track riders. All the bikes we would show would be both tested on the street and the track. I would have a how to section hosted by Shaggy, and riding tips from Thad Wolff. The show would also tour the country visiting local race clubs and do a bio of the privateer rider of the week. My show would rock!

I guess that means I won't watch it then. It's on again tonight at 5:30 on SPEED if anyone has 30 minutes to waste. Thanx for the heads up, guys.

I haven't seen the show...nor do I really want to. I would rather have Greg's Garage back.
Unfortunatly safe riding doesn't get your snot nosed, now into drifting, little pimp poppers to watch your show.

I haven't had a chance to watch the show yet, but judging by some of the posts in this thread it looks like it would be a waste of my time. For those of you that caught the show and really disagree with the message there is already a petition to have it changed or cancelled all together. Here is what the Petition states.
We the undersigned are outraged at how your network has chosen to depict the Sportbike Community. Your show portrays every stereotype that we have been trying to get past since Senator Danforth tried to outlaw Sportbikes in the late 80s. This type of irresponsible reporting will serve to do nothing but harm our sport. Please change the format to portray the responsible use of "Superbikes" or drop the show all together. If you cannot portray our sport in a positive light, we would prefer that you leave us alone altogether.
I'm not sure if it will net any sort of action, but if you disagree with the format of Superbikes it couldn't hurt to sign.
Sign the Petition here (http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/Superbikesmustgo)

ya know whats funny to me? the way you guys bash all these other riders on this show for riding the way they like no matter what people think. And yet we all go up to palomar/tele/highland/etc... and scare the hell outta people riding the way we like to ride. Pull your noses outta the air and just respect the way they choose to ride, just like we wish to be respected the way we choose to ride. It comes down to what makes you happy. You don't see them bashing us for our chosen riding style, do you? All I have to say is, " to each his own".
OK i'm done, have a nice 4th everyone.

Here goes Josh defending the stunta life again. The show ONLY reflected the one side of sportbike riding and made it appear as though all who ride sportbikes behave in that manner. I think that's what has people concerned as it's not an accurate depiction of the sportbiking community. A bike shop/bar? Chalk outlines of fallen bikes? Lane splitting between a car and the sidewalk? Gimme a break. I for one like to watch stunts but that show was just retarded.
Have a good 4th too, bro.

While I'm sure I DO scare the crap out of the occasioanl blue hair granny driving her buick up the mountain at 10mph, I *try* to make reasonable passes and not be a total squid up there, and I'll usually give cars the chance to let me by before I just blast by them.
And, yes, I think the guys up there treating it like thier personal race track are just as bad as those doing wheelies on the freeway, and I cringe when I see the news stories about Pally and they show the interview withthe one guy dumb enough to say things like "I do it for the adrenaline and I don't give a F#$% about cars and the cops can't catch me anyway blah blah blah"
So, in summary, stunner squids suck, wanna be PIR racers suck (they might be even worse, as I know two guys that have gotten hit head on just cruising up the mountain by one of these morons), and the more exposure either one gets, the worse it is for the rest of us, just like every time a ricer crashes his fart-canned spring-chopped neon-lit civic crashes, everyone in a sports car cringes cause there's more backlash coming....
And, it's ALMOST hard to blame the media cause they pick the morons to interview cause they are more entertaining/sensationalist, but when they pawn off that entertainment as news or actual information about what it's like, then I do get pissed. [/rant]

I agree with term, the show only showed that side(stunting and general hooliganism) of motorcycling. But that is what the show was intended to do. There is a huge market for the stunting/extreme riders and can you blame speed for trying to get in on it? It's all about the mighty dollar. Oh and I'm not defending the "stunta life", i'm defending different peoples passions and hopefully not being judged for them. And yes i agree, the whole chalk line thing was so freekin retarted!!!!!

I'm not bashing what they showed or how they showed it' I'm just saying it's not for me. I was bored most of the time. I did like the segment on the guy building streetfighters though.

It was cool.... I seen them taping there at Fontana Friday May 26th while at a Fastrack event. It's true... You CAN spend $500 whether it's on the track having fun or going to see the judge for a speeding ticket.
