View Full Version : Sidi Vertigo Corsa boots
After months of drooling over them, I finally purchased the Sidi Vertigo Corsa boots. I'm having a bit of a problem with them, though.. The superior ankle support system on these boots gets hung up on my bike on the heel guard, as noted in the attached picture.
Trying to get them uncaught usually occurs mid-turn (on the boot that is on the inside of the turn) and I feel it seriously jeapordizes my riding. Does anyone else have this problem, or is it related to my rear sets or my foot positioning? I've been trying to overcome my "duck foot" habit, but I still didn't have these problems with my old A* boots. It seems I'm either dragging too much toe or getting the boot caught up on the heel guard.
Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. I'm consciously bringing my foot down on the peg so that it won't get caught but it doesn't always work. I've just learned to pull it out of the heel guard pronto.

What a crappy thing to worry about amidst all the other things you need to think about when you're riding!
I was tempted to put a piece of duct tape over the ankle brace system every session last weekend just to avoid it.
What do you think about removing the heel guard altogether?

Sweet boots, though. Sorry your having that problem. Maybe try positioning your feet differently?

I'd keep the heel guard on. I've found that I use it to help brace myself in turns and wouldn't want my foot to find it's way into the chain. Try the duct tape thing.

Becky, this isn't so much related to your specific boot problem, but hopefully it helps. When I got the aprilia I had to re-learn my foot position on the pegs. I've had to scoot my feet to the very outside of the peg. If I don't, my heel contacts the swingarm and my foot get lifted off the peg. Maybe try doing that. Move your feet out and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, perhaps different heel guards might do the trick.

Yeah... I guess I just feel pretty owned for having to put duct tape on my brand new boots that retail at $395. Boo!

Well my icon boots dont give my ankles any protection. So if I go down... Kiss my ankles goodbye.. I can wear them casual yeah but I just care more about my safety then looks.
