You're gonna have to pull the dent first, then bondo it! I could offer some assistance if necessary!

On my Integra, shaved the emblems! When are you going to buy all the materials?

There's alot of materials to buy if you don't have them already. First of all, depending on how big the dent is, you have to pull it with a dent puller, then sand it down to bare metal. Bondo, hardener, sand block, sand paper 100-400 grit, etc! Let me see if I can borrow some of my friends stuff first before you spend money on new stuff.

is this going to be thrown on for track purpose?? if so just leave it dented and paint over it. for track use i don think it is worth al that effort to pull bondo and paint. just paint over it. i saw an RC51 like that at the track, no one care about the dent...its character:-p

You're talking about drilling a hole in the tank to pull the dent out, yes? Then you need to fill the whole with something that will hold the gas in and won't be corroded by the gasoline. When I was thinking about doing this to a tank I asked some people about it, and the general consensus was not to try it (so this isn't first-hand knowledge, just what other people said). I ended up just slapping a ton of bondo on to fill in the dent.

is there any way to pull it besides that method?

Yeah because it's a gas tank come to think of it, using a dent puller would not be such a good idea! Sean, maybe you could score a DING KING on the Home Shopping Network! Other than that, using a shiet load of bondo is your best bet!

good ahead Sean, SUCK IT!  J/K! Depending on how big the dent is and location. If it's on the edge like your F2 and F3 cup holders, then it's gonna be really difficult to pull. Speakin of which, give us some details as of where this dent is and location!
yeah, I called around to plenty of places trying to get the dent pulled from my Sv gas tank and nobody would do the job. :(

you could weld a screw onto the tank, then attach the dent puller to that, pull the dent and grind it back smooth....

You might have trouble finding people that will will do welding work on a gas tank. My original ideas was to just cut a big whole in the bottom, pound out the dent from the inside, and then weld the bottom closed. But apparently there are some special precautions you need to take when welding this and the people I talked to wouldn't do it (not saying it can't be done, just that your average joe welder might not be able to).

I have a welder, and the only danger is fumes exploding in the tank! not a good idea...but if you fill the tank with water then weld it up, you shouldn't have a problem.

Concur Jas, pressing the tank (filling it with water) is exactly the safest method to weld a gas tank. Works great on 40,000 gallon fuel tanks here on the ship ;) and of course the alcohol works like magic

Thanks Philo for having my back ;)
To explain my lack of judgement I must brag that I just left Mazatlan after spending 4 marvelous days partying my a$$ off with spring breakers. I really really should go to bed cause I need sleep. :beam:
