I have never tried them, but this is what I know... Mickey and Cliff from SoCal track days were die hard Arai guys. Then I guess someone from scorpion asked them to check out their helmets and Clif and Mickey liked them. Then Mickey decided to thoroughly crash test his and now he swears by them.
so...take that for what it's worth and welcome to the site. If you get one. Let us know what you think.

Had a buddy with a Scorpion helmet. The build quality looked pretty good, but he said when he wore it on the freeway, wind noise and windscreen chatter from vibration were annoying. He switched to a Shoei I think.

+1, my buddy said the same thing... just get some ear plugs and it will reduce it enough

I forgot to ask whether a Large in Shoei is the same as a Large in Scorpion?
does anyone know??
Also, are the anti-fog visors effective?

as for sizes, go to a shop that carries them and try them on. from what i've read/seen the sizing appears fairly comparable.
their anti fog screens are awesome as per friend reviews and mag reviews also

I have a EXO 700. Love the thing. Never had any chatter from the sheild and I wear earplugs regardless so noise is not an issue.
The anti fog does work, never had mine fog up, even during the winter.

My buddy swore by his too when he first got it, but then thought differently after he picked up his Shoei.

My girlfriend has one and she loves it, especially the antifog, she doesnt complain about noise at all. But she did try on an Arai this past weekend and talked about how much lighter it is I thought about getting one for morning commute myself

i've got one and i like it. it fit me better than the other helmets i've tried on and i've heard good things about their customer service which is apparently very close to me. the noise and chatter has never been an issue for me. the anti-fog visor works well too. i have never had an issue with fog even while riding in temps down around the low 30's.

would anyone know when shoei is coming out with anti-fog visors instead of those crummy inserts.
its honestly just the anit-fog that I am interested in, I am tired of spray or those dumb inserts
if they are loud and/or heavy it makes it a huge bummer.
dammit shoei MAKE ANTI-FOG VISORS!!

Dude, I rode with a HJC lid for a bit and also a Scorpion - both very similar in terms of weight, feel, and noise. Then just poked around for a while and picked up a used (practically new) Shoei RF-1000 for $300. Best money I ever spent, hands down.
As far as fog goes, Shoei airflow is excellent on the fly - Ive never had any problems while moving. Just pop your visor up while waiting at lights. No real need for crazy anti-fog visors in my opinion.
Just keep looking around for a good deal.

<-----I love mine...deffinatly worth it. Quick Visor change system is great, anti-fog works so well it never fogs, my EXO-700 is very light weight, kwikwick removable washable liner keeps my large head dry. I don't have noise problems at all. I found they size a little *small*...I wear the XX-Large EXO when I only wear a X-Large in HJC. It is so worth the 140 I payed for it at the Long Beach Bike show last year.

Sounds to me they size smaller since you had to go up a size on the Scorpion.

Get the helmet that is most comfortable to you. Not all helmets fit the same. But they all serve the same funtion-safety. Go to cycle gear and try on a bunch. If Scorpion is what you like-I say go for it. I wanted ARAI for the longest time because of the graphics and airflow but ended up with Shoei cuz it fit better for my BIG head.

I use the anti-fog spray for my paintball goggles. Works pretty well and no fog. Although, I don't have a fog issue in the summer time, only in the winter.

+1 that James has a large head.
Scorpion are very good deals for the money (only $150 or so), but they are kinda heavy. For only 40-50 more you can get an OGK FF4 which is lighter and has the biggest eye-port I've ever seen......which is great for visibility when you're commuting

I want this helmet pretty bad too, just dont know if its worth it.
I bought cheap helmets before and they end up sitting around because they
are heavy, loud or uncomfortable.
does anyone know????

I have a scorpion ex700 - i use it as my track helmet - very comfortable and also the kwickwick and anti-fog helps alot... i also purchase that chin thingy (dont know what its called) so the wind wont go up your face from the bottom of the helmet... I think this helmet, for the price, is GREAT... the weight is no factor - as a matter of fact, my arai corsair is almost the same weight as this helmet (well - i dont see the difference)... I've never crash tested my scorpion (and hopefully, it wont happen)... hope this helps...
