Traction control is now legal for AMA racing

It looks like the AMA has decided to change their stance on traction control halfway through the racing season. After that pace car incident at Daytona…a rule change in the middle of the season doesn’t surprise me. Here’s the press release from the AMA.

From www.Superbikeplanet.com

This just in from the AMA. This ruling means any and all forms of traction control are are legal in FX and Superbike, while only traction control systems that use OEM sensors are legal in Supersport and Superstock.

Can't help but wonder how much of the push for this came from Ducati.

I think they should make it illegal for both AMA and World SBK and make it a heads up/ bring what you brought type of race.

Funny coming from you, Gene, considering the on-going speculation that Suzuki has an undisclosed form of traction control on their AMA superbikes. I'm thinking this would only even out the playing field as seen in WSBK. Props to AMA.

heads up? stock? thats what supersport is for...

superbike is all about development for production bikes. bring what you brought would be a positive for traction control... how can you make something "illegal" in a bring what you brought race?
